  1. Hi Guys, As a very nervous member just getting ready to take her claim to court, I'd really appreciate some advice. I've had a look around here and the county courts website but can't quite figure out how to go about lodging my claim in the courts. I live and work in different counties, does it matter where I lodge the claim. Is the claim letter here (particulars of claim) all I need to lodge the claim? I've checked and can see there will be a £120 fee for my £1500 claim, I know I can claim this back from HSBC, but do I list it in the particulars? If so, would I incur other charges and how could I know what they might be? Do I lodge the claim in person at the court? Thanks in advance, Jo
  2. Hi There, I'm just about to send my Letter Before Action to the HSBC, but I'm confused at the wording in the draft. I've read posts here that say you shouldn't claim the interest until you go to court, however, the draft includes wording that claims the interest? Should I just follow the draft word for word? I should have asked this when I sent my preliminary letter, but I just fudged an edit and removed the part pertaining to the interest. Thanks In Advance
  3. Nice one - Thanks for your help
  4. Hi There, I've sent my first letter - Preliminary approach for repayment - and have received a reply from HSBC saying they will investigate my claim and I should wait 8 weeks for a response. I thought that thay had 14 days to respond before I sent the letter before action, do I now need to give them 8weeks? Is this just a delaying tactic? Thanks, Jo
  5. Thanks, I think I going to get myself together to do this. Been thinking of it for a while but didn't know where to start. Reading through this site has been a huge help already. Cheers.
  6. I'd also be grateful of advice on calculating charges owed. EG. £27 charged - gow much do I claim back? Also, if HSBC is capped to £125 charges in any one period, can the claim that by reducing the charge to say, £12, they can add further charges that they couldn't previously charge due to the limit? Thanks
  7. Hi, I am seriously considering claiming against HSBC regarding thousands of pounds of charges they have added to my account over the years, but am worried about the effect this might have on my other accounts at HSBC. I currently have a personal loan with two years left to run, and a credit card. I've noted the advice to open a parachute account, but am worried HSBC may withdraw my other accounts. Does anyone know of any instances where this has happened? Cheers, Jo
