    Loz83 v Abbey

Hello Update to my progress so far. I started reading this site in early September and read and read through again several threads. I decided on the 26th of September to send my SAR to Abbey. By the 1st November I had received through only my previous 14 months statements, and was informed the rest were on microfiche and I would receive them in due course. I sent them a letter on the 8th November to inform them that the intial 40 days were up and if they didn't send the rest of my statements through within 7 days I would report them to the OFT. Sure enough within 3 days of sending the letter my outstanding statements were with me, although the print was virtually unreadable. Anyway I calculated that over the last 6 years they have charged me around £1100 and on Thursday 16th November I sent my prelim letter to Abbey, just the standard template one from the site. Yesterday I received this letter through Thank you for contacting us and I am sorry that you have been so unhappy that you have felt you must complain. One of my team will be responsible for investigating your complaint and I have enclosed our complaints leaflet, which explains our procedure for doing this. High quality customer service is of great importance to us at Abbey and we will do everything we can to resolve your complaint in a timely and satisfactory manner. I know it is important to you that we resolve your complaint quickly, but we want to do a thorough investigation and sometimes this can take time. If we have not contacted you before then, we will write to you in four weeks to let you know what is happening. Although I do not know what the outcome will be, I do hope that we will be able to find a solution that you are happy with. Yours Sincerely Marc Winder, Head of Complaints I know this is a computer generated letter, but my question is with can I still stick to my 14 day time table? They are saying I will here back in four weeks, but surely they can justify there charges at the drop of a hat? Anyone's advice on this would be greatly appreciacted. Thanks
  2. Just a quick hello to you all, and I'm looking forward to getting my life back on track with the help of this site. Bring on the Abbey!
