I've now added up my student account charges, and it comes to £715. Blimey! However, three of these are for £10 (subsequent charges on the same day). Do I include them? Just have to calculate the interest now, but I'm a little daunted by that as I'm not quite sure which spreadsheet to use. Also totted up my First Direct charges, but really should be studying right now!

Hello fellow reclaimers. I'm about to start reclaiming an estimated total of £640 of bank charges applies to my student HSBC account. Don't worry I 'll do all the sums properly before I do! But before I start I have a question: I have a £2,000 overdraft on the student account, which is just about at the limit, and is likely to be so until I finish studying next year. Last week I opened a Halifax student account, hoping for the equivalent interest free overdraft, but I actually got just £500, meaning that I couldn't actually close the HSBC one and switch accounts, and also if HSBC close my account, I have no back up. Any advice gratefully received. Thank you. Nextdoorscat.

Hello all. I've read all of the FAQs, read about the process of reclaiming the charges and read quite a few threads about individual's claims. I recently did a rough calculation of charges over the past 6 years for one of my accounts, and it came to £640, so I think it's about time I started claiming them back as well as totting up charges on my credit card and other account. Before I start though, I have a question about parachute accounts, and am not sure whether to post it here or on the board for HSBC, from whom I'll be claiming, so apologies if it's in the wrong place!
