Hello all.
I've read all of the FAQs, read about the process of reclaiming the charges and read quite a few threads about individual's claims. I recently did a rough calculation of charges over the past 6 years for one of my accounts, and it came to £640, so I think it's about time I started claiming them back as well as totting up charges on my credit card and other account.
Before I start though, I have a question about parachute accounts, and am not sure whether to post it here or on the board for HSBC, from whom I'll be claiming, so apologies if it's in the wrong place!
I have a £2,000 overdraft on my HSBC student account, which is just about at the limit, and is likely to be so until I finish studying next year. Last week I opened a Halifax student account, hoping for the equivalent interest free overdraft, but I actually got just £500, meaning that I couldn't actually close the HSBC one and switch accounts, and also that if HSBC close my account, I have no back up. Any advice gratefully received.
Thank you.
