When I moved into my present home, my now ex husband set up an gas/electric ccount with British Gas, when we got divorced, British Gas changed the name of the account to my name (I didnt ask in writing). I had so many problems with BG over several years that I finally changed to another company. BG told me over the phone that I didint owe them any money that I was in credit and I thought that I would receive my credit and that be that. I am now receiving letters from Wescot demanding money as I owe BG for an outstanding Gas bill. They have also placed a default on my credit file. Can they do this? Wescot dont want to know just keep asking for the money until today when I received a postcard(in an envelope) for Legal & Trade Collections asking me to contact them? (on line it shows that L&G often take on Wescots cases, so I assume its the same debt). Can I ask for a copy of the cca and ask for the default to be removed? Hope I have done this right as I am new to this site, if not I am sorry!

I have a ccj against me with CL Finance (GE Capital), I went into panic and they took me to court and I didnt ask for a copy of agreement and didnt know then I cold claim back the costs. Can I still calim against them and if so do I calim against CL Finance or GE, Sorry about the miess but I didint know about this site when I first got into debt.

Hi, I am new to this and have just found out that I could claim money back, does this still apply when I already have a CCJ against my name for the debt to GE Capital, I panicked when I received the court forms and did not ask for a copy of the signed agreement or dispute the claim. Thanks for any help.
