  1. cheers for the responses. I am looking at exactly the same mortgage products (5.99% tracker but for my calcs I am assuming fixed as the principle applies whatever the rate). I have £800 to pay my total mortgage costs. If I go Capital and Repayment then will I pay off as much capital as if I go interest only and overpay the difference between the C&R option and the Interest only option (ie about £200 p/m). I think its going to pay off more capital if I go C&R according to Mortgage repayment | Calculators | Guardian Unlimited Money
  2. I have a question for all the mortgage experts out there. I have a 120k mortgage and I have a budget of around £800 to pay off this mortgage. I need an approximate answer to this question bearing in mind that C&R mortgages are 'front-loaded' for the interest on the loan. Which of these two methods will pay the most off the capital on my mortgage: Capital and repayment at £800 - how much capital would I pay off after 3 years? Interest only at £600 a month and then overpaying by £200 per month (thus coming straight off the capital). I do hope that makes sense......
  3. Sorry for bumping but I really any help from anyone would be really appreciated
  4. Back again and I have finally received a court date (28/06/07) and the following letter. My reading into this is that I need to fill in the Case Management Information Sheet no later than 7 days before the hearing. http://www.justice.gov.uk/civil/procrules_fin/contents/form_section_images/practice_directions/pd59_pdf_eps/pd59_cmis.pdf Is this correct? I really need help on this, I feel so out of my depth that I am seriously thinking about accepting their first offer (£830 for a claim of £1666.60). Can someone please give me some advice on this - or have any of you received the same letter?
  5. Back again and I am struggling again! I have been a sent a letter from the Leeds courthouse. The details are The Judge (Judge Kaye QC) has ordered that: 1 The claim is transferred to the Mercantile Court, Leeds District Registry. 2 The claim is reserved for all purposes to His Honour Judge Kaye QC. 3 Because this Order has been made by the Court without considering representations to the parties, the parties have the right to apply to have the order set aside, varied or stayed. A party wishing to make an application must send or deliver the application to the court (together with any appropriate fee) to arrive within seven days of service of this Order. _________________________________ My question is, do I need to do anything about this? I am beginning to get worried about how long this is taking and that my case is for some reason poor.
  6. Right - next installment! My case has been now moved to Leeds CC and I still have no court date. Is it worth me phoning Barclays to try and get them to settle? or should I wait until I get the Leeds date and have submitted my bundle etc? Thank you for the help.
  7. Hi there, Still looking for a little advice and help. I sent my AQ to Harrogate CC and have still had no reply from them. I sent it off about 5 weeks ago and have still had no response from them (although they did bank my cheque). Should I be doing anything at this point or still waiting for Harrogate CC to reply? Thanks.
  8. Claim now transferred to Harrogate County Court. Once this has been filed by Harrogate CC would it be worth me trying to get a settlement from Barclays? Thanks for all the support by the way.
  9. Today is the big day that my MCOL Claim officially finishes. No word yet from Barclays but I am fully prepared for hearing from them at the last possible moment. Quick question - is it worth me ringing them to check the progress at their end (and if so who to ring?)? Thanks
  10. Thanks very much for the advise - much appreciated
  11. I have just filed with MCOL - Go me!!! Do I now need to send a details of my claim to Barclays? Do I need to indicate to them that I am now adding interest to my claim? Should I send the interest spreadsheet to Barclays? Can I think of anymore questions? Thanks everyone for the help and advice
  12. Received another letter yesterday offering me the same as before - £595 short of my claim! Its off to MCOL for me then.
  13. Hi there worthingmum, Best to start here:- http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/faqs-please-read-these/31460-step-step-instructions.html Its all a bit daunting to start with but the more you read about cases on here the more comfortable you begin to feel with it all.
  14. Help - advice needed. I sent off my LBA and surprise, surprise no reply at all yet. I allowed from 18th Dec until 13th Jan to allow for chrstmas and still no reply. Am I right to start persuing a claim through MCOL now????? Thanks in advance.
  15. Back again, I am just about to send off my LBA letter to Barclays. I would like to accept their initial offer £830 as a part settlement of my claim. How should I make this known to them. The LBA template doesnt really cover this eventuality however it is recommended in the Step-by-step guide. Can someone please help - Thanks in advance.
  16. Thanks for the support guys - looks like I'll be printing my LBA then! EDIT: Do I need to submit the details of my claim to them again (copy statements etc)?
  17. Question - If I issue an LBA to Barclays to persue the rest of my claim will I still be able to accept their initial offer if I decide to take that route instead? See the thing is that I am not overly keen on the whole going to court idea!
  18. I have so far only sent a prelim letter. Would it be advisable to next send an LBA?? If I do send an LBA does this effectivly reject their initial offer?? Thank you, Pete
  19. Just to keep you all updated (and get some advice!!). I have today been sent a letter from Barclays offering the sum of £830.00 as a settlement of my claim. I initially claimed £1425.00 and am wondering whether to accept this offer. I would like to hold out for the additional £595.00 BUT I am worried about having to go to court and I am unsure about how to proceed. I get confused with all the legal terminology and from reading other threads it seems like Barclays are beginning to take a harder line on this. Please can someone help me??? Thanks
  20. Hello all, I am new to the site but have just sorted out all my info to send to Barclays. Fingers crossed
