Private Parking Companies & Cameras
siege1976 replied to expediant's topic in Private Land Parking Enforcement
I assume the photo would show you either entering or leaving a car park. It's not a speed camera. What would need calibrating on it? -
Speed camera - can I get out of this
siege1976 replied to johnny_lynch's topic in Private Land Parking Enforcement
If the speed was above the limit, then it wasn't appropriate. -
Because speedos legally have to read high to allow for wear and tear affecting the readings and maybe showing you doing less than you are really doing. Can show up to 10% higher than you are actually doing.
-
One of the many benefits of living in Scotland is that we've banned these pondlife from operating here already. Can't believe England haven't followed suit.
-
Why? If he was doing 33, his speedo would have been showing anything from 33-36mph. It's over the limit.

Fine but not markings on the road?
siege1976 replied to jeaxton's topic in Private Land Parking Enforcement
You said you were "hemmed in". The photos show you clearly aren't and there's enough room to get out of the space. You then change your mind to say the problem is you can't get your back doors open. How does that equate to bing "hemmed in"? You came to ak for help and opinions. Just because they don't agree with your point ofview, doesn't make them wrong. -
PCN for parking in a private car park
siege1976 replied to palasmy's topic in Private Land Parking Enforcement
Umm...WHAT identifying details? They haven't even said what PPC is involved, never mind anything that could identify them! -
Not sure if you're getting confused here, but it's a Council PCN you have received, NOT a PPC invoice. This one needs to be defended properly, not just ignored. Can't really offer any other advice as i'm not an expert. Also, no offence meant, but your posts are badly constructed and tricky to understand.

It's bays up here around Foresterhill Hospital, Aberdeen.
-
Up here, they have restrictions around the hospital saying that only residents can park between 10AM and 4PM. Basically stops workers/patients, etc taking all the spaces (which should be unnecessary anyway as parking is now free at the Hospitals up here).

Parking on a dropped footway
siege1976 replied to shaz1000's topic in Local Authority Parking and Traffic Offences
Would have to agree with this...the different kerbstones definitely suggest it is a dropped kerb. -
Private Parking Tickets - General discussion points
siege1976 replied to Alianmid's topic in Private Land Parking Enforcement
And yet she's convinced by a flimsy piece of paper in a shiny envelope someone has randomly stuck on her windscreen??? -
Just remember that the Bon Accord Centre, as well as the Trinity Cnetre, Shiprow and College Street car parks, are all ran by [problem] merchants...Chapel Street, Gallowgate, West North Street (OPPOSITE Morrisons, not the Morrisons Car Park) and the ones just off East North Street (both sides) are ACC car parks in the centre.
-
I occasionally shop down there and i've seen the "parking attendants" wandering around and wondered if they would have got anybody. As suggested, just ignore the ticket completely. Legally, they don't have a leg to stand on, despite what they claim.
-
PPC. Ignore it. The're using the phrase "Notice To Owner" to scare you. Bit naughty i'd have thought...
