  1. I decided to give nationwide a call before filling in my allocation questionnaire to see why they had paid my claim short £900, I really didn't expect them to do anything but a really nice, helpful lady looked into my claim and came back saying they had made a mistake and not printred off 6 months worth of charges, so they would send me a cheque for the remainder of my claim!!!

I'll wait and see when it arrives and for how much the cheque is for before getting too excited but it was well worth a phone call!!

  2. Hi guys

Well I rceieved my allocation questionnaire at weekend so it has to be submitted by the 20th Feb, bit annoying that I have to pay another £100 when I really can't afford but it will be worthwhile.

Am a bit scared at this stage and keep hoping that they will pay up quickly, but I am sure they are just trying to scare me off claiming back the extra £900 that is RIGHTFULLY mine!!!

Seeing as they have already paid up a large amount of the charges surely this shows that they are guilty???

Has anyone actually had to appear in court yet???

  3. Hi Kenspe

I've received my allocation questionnaire and that has to be submitted by the 20th Feb, I really wish they would just pay up now - did you have to pay the £100 to submit the questionnaire?

Have to admit I am worried now and feel slightly out of my depth but good to know other people are at the same stage.

I think seeing as they have closed our accounts we just receive a cheque for the remaining amount WHEN we win!!

Really not sure what happens next though mate sorry

  4. Hi Kenspe

I'm also in the same boat - they paid up but are about £900 short, I've also just received the closing account letter - I can't wait to shut that account.

I'm unsure about what to do now - have you sent back a letter to Charles Bacon? Have you received the court letter asking if you wish to continue with the claim?

Good to know others are at this same stage.

    Good luck

  5. Thanks Garu

I think they are just trying to pull a fast one and scare me off - am a bit worried now but hey it will take more than this trick from Mr bacon to scare me off!

Is anyone else at this stage????

  6. Hi

Today I have received my 'Notice of defence that amount claimed has been paid' even though they haven't paid in full.

I have to tick a box wishing to proceed with the claim or not. I want the rest of MY money but worried now that this is going to get to court.

    Is this letter standard practice???

When I send this back do I also send a letter to Nationwide accepting this as partial payment but saying I am continuing for the full amount??? Is there a template for this???

    Any help greatly appreciated

  7. Hi pt2537

I was just checking through the threads for someone claiming back from Black Horse for a loan. I'm in the same boat, I'm claiming back from Nationwide at the moment but am annoyed with Black Horse and the way they treat you so thought I'd claim from these too - hey it's our money!!

Glad to see you are claiming back from them too - I will follow your thread to watch your progress

    Good Luck

  8. yeah they have sent a letter saying the sum credited etc.

I have checked on moneyclaim online and it says the status of claim is defend, I have never received anything through the post saying they are going to defend - but the date they have put as defence is the date it was acknowledged - is this right???

Should I get a court date through soon - I'm scared!!

If I do a letter accepting this as partial payment do I send this to H.O address??

  9. Hi

Well I was wrong the other day and Nationwide have underpaid, I am claiming back £ 2633 and they have only paid back £1911. From reading other threads I can see Nationwide do pull this little trick but any advice on what I do now???

  10. Oh my god I have just checked my account (as I have been doing ALL the time since issuing court) and I have been credited in full!!

I am so pleased - now it gives me chance to get my finances sorted. Think I might take on Natwest next!

Thanks to everyones help and advice on the forum - it is SO helpful and makes you realise you are not doing this by yourself.

    Good luck everyone

  11. Does anyone know just before I do my online court claim if I can claim for the charges my account will get in January ( Nationwide list the charges on your statement but then only take it out 30days after) so for my December statement I have another £150 of charges but that will only be taken out in january. Any advice??

I don't know if I'm just getting greedy now though!! hee hee

  12. Well todays the day when I issue court proceedings - I am so scared!!!

But determined to get all these charges back - so a little excited aswell!!

It would be so good to get the charges back before Christmas.

  13. Just wondering what happens when you're in this process but still getting charges on your account? I've sent off my second letter (LBA) but just got thsi months statement and I've got £150 of charges :-(

Can I add it on when I issue the claim or do I just have to write this off and be happy with what I get??????

  14. Hi guys.

I'm currently at the first stage of claiming £2600 back from the Nationwide. Sent my 1st letter on the 9th November and i've received a letter from Nationwide basically fobbing me off. They have advised me that i should have been fully aware of the charges when i opened my account and when i signed the application form for my account. They add at the end that i should appreciate this is why they cannot refund any of my charges.

Please help, shall i continue with my time scale and send my second letter? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :?

    good luck to everyone else!!
