  1. Sorry to post again, but i have done some digging and gone through my paperwork which has refreshed my memory on things somewhat. In January 2003 we took out the first car loan with PPI added, in 2005 we had a further one or two (i can find various details relating to two different dates in 2005) unsecured loans both with added PPI - each time we were advised that we wouldnt be able to have the loan without PPI! In 2007 I sent an SAR and was eventually sent a huge pile of documents relating to the most recent account history with a letter saying 'if anything is not present then its because we no longer have it'. And after a few letters back and forth regarding PPI they sent a letter saying that it was their final response and that they didnt believe any wrongdoing had taken place. We haven't heard anything over the past couple of years until the Fscs contacted me (not FSA as prev posted) to advise that they were dealing with Welcome PPI claims from January 2005 onwards and to date we have heard nothing from them. I intend to chase this tomorrow. Now I still wonder what the next best route is, as if Welcome no longer hold my account details prior to 2005 what chance do i stand of reclaiming PPI? In the short term i just need to stop Empingham from calling mine and my wifes phones night and day but due to the tricky situation i dont know how to do that! This nightmare is just getting worse it seems with no end in sight Hoping someone maybe able to help
  2. I've had twelve calls again today from 8.15am onwards - could anyone advise on what we can do? I dont know whether to send a PPI letter or account in dispute letter or neither Thank you
  3. Hi We had an account with welcome finance dating back 8-9 years, last made payment approx 5 years ago and since then apart from a few attempts from various unsavoury dca's we have managed to avoid making payment. This is due to two main reasons - we are heavily in debt and have negative available funds at the end of each month Welcome stung us for PPI knowing full well it would be of little use as my wife is chronically ill and has been for 14 years. We have made attempts at reclaiming the PPI but have never got anywhere and to be honest i can't recall the stage we were at as its such a long time ago. We did have a letter from (i think) the FSA regarding them pursuing a PPI claim on our behalf against Welcome and advising us that they had gone into administration or something but we have not had any response and thats at least 12 months ago. in the past 6 weeks we have begun to be bombarded with calls from Empingham regarding the welcome debt! Can anyone advise on the best course of action please? Can they chase a debt from a company who is in administration and if they now own this debt can we pursue them for PPI? I am at a loss and my wife is still having chemotherapy and her phone is ringing constantly with these hounding us both at all hours Any advice would be greatfully received. Thank you

Gildo - i wish i could say something to reassure you further - i have spent two days beating myself up, thinking i'm a bad parent etc and blaming myself but i cant take full responsibility if they have had this info since april 2010. My other half has been in and out of our lives for the past 2 years - mainly due to my illness as i'm having chemotherapy at the moment but i didnt even try to explain that, it was pointless! they just assured me that there would be no prosecution or penalty so i really think you will be fine hun xxx

    Tax credit fraud!!

Hi doomed - did they go into your income/outgoings in order to agree on £50 a month? Or did you suggest that figure? You are right - they dont live in the real world do they? x

ECB49 - try not to worry, i know its easier said than done - maybe you could call them again tomorrow? I felt the same i.e why are they calling me back so quickly if everyone else is taking longer - i think we are all so on edge our thoughts are irrational at the moment. I had all sorts of crazy thoughts going through my head - still do but i feel better than i did this morning. Just a waiting game now. Gildo - poor you, i suspect they wont bother with anything before 2010 if thats what your letter says - they never asked me about before that time so try not to worry. They did tell me that they dont prosecute or issue penalty as its something to do with human rights?!? xxx

No timescale - i dont think anyway as my head was pretty mashed She said i would get a letter from her stating that my curreng claim ended today etc but then it would be the overpayment team dealing with it. So im not sure of their timeframe - let me know if you hear? I have been just the same myself, still cant eat to be honest. I broke down at work so had to tell my friend - the shame! From what ive read people pay £50 ish a month - is that what you've read? I could just about afford that xx

    Tax credit fraud!!

I called them at 12.30 and spoke to a really snotty man, very condescending! And he advised someone would call me back asap - probably this afternoon! At this point i really panicked cos i knew they had told you 2 wks and began to think they must be taking mine very serious! Well i had a call back within half an hour (couldnt post on here as i was at work) from a lovely lady who said that the overpayment would now be calculated and the overpayment team would contact me by letter and i then need to call them to arrange a repayment plan. She advised me to make a joint claim tomorrow - cant see much point but worth a try i guess. She was very reassuring and said there would be no penalty or prosecution so i feel very relieved in that sense. Just need to wait now - a huge THANK YOU to everyone here for your advice, i really appreciate it xxxx good luck to you all too

  14. Just made the call completely panicked and he didnt give me any chance to explain! He said someone would call me back possibly this afternoon, and that they had a date of 06/04/2010 for my hubby living there. Im in a worse state than ever now because i didnt get anything out that i wanted to i feel like a complete criminal
  15. Thank you so much for the reply. Another sleepless night i hope i can get some comfort from calling them today however small. Did they go for the whole 2 years or did they have a date when they think yr hubby lived with you? Its the not knowing thats the worst part - i will post back as soon as i call them - good luck xxxx
