  1. I am on medication for epileptic seizures (which I haven't had in over 10 years) and used to go see the consultant every 6months or so. About 12 years ago, I asked the hospital for access to my records, purely for curiousity. They gave me a form which I filled in and returned. It stated that I only had access to records after 01 Nov 1991. After about 3 weeks, I signed for the delivery of a fat envelope with photocopies of notes, and results of blood tests. They billed me after I had received the package, not in advance, a fee of £10 + VAT. I'd had an MRI scan, and a couple of X-Rays and I didn't receive any info on those at all.
  2. To recap what I mentioned in my post in the Welcome Forum, I have been through all the existing bank statements I have for 2 YB accounts, and one from Halifax. I had my own Yorkshire Bank account that I finally sorted and closed a year or so back. Going through all the statements for that account, I have paid just shy of £170 The joint account my wife and I have has clocked up £2646. We have an account with the Halifax that has cost us £5430. I can tell you that Howard Brown will not be getting a christmas card this year... lol We are curently taking ample advantage of our £1000 OD with Halifax, which with a successful claim from YB, can be paid off, thus preventing Halifax having any stranglehold over us. Anyway, back to YB. I'm missing a few statements, so I shall be submitting my DPA in the next few days. In a different thread, youngandfree suggested I test the water with the £170 claim. I'm tempted to run them both concurrently. I'll keep you all posted.
  3. Ooh ooh, thinking about it, if I can claim back my late fees on my credit card, I could probably pay the bugger off. Our Halifax account still has a £1000 overdraft on it, which we're permanently dipped into. Hopefully, a pay out from YB would clear the overdraft and thus, leave Halifax with less leverage over us. I'm going to get the transaction info back from Kays catalogue, a few years back, they were biling me £15 for a letter. I'd love to know how much THAT's cost me in the past..
  4. Sorry mods, didn't even realise I'd put it. Will be more vigilant in my proof-reading.
  5. That's not a bad idea. Am I right in assuming my tenner would get me the details for both accounts, or just the one?
  6. Hi all, I wandered onto this site a couple of days ago and have spent the last few days reading Yorkshire Bank and Halifax threads, some of which are truly gripping!! I've had trouble managing bank accounts, and through sheer determination have got everything under control. Then I came across this site, and I shall be demanding my cash back. I have an account with Yorkshire and one with Halifax, there was another Yorkshire account, but that was closed. I've not requested anything, but I had kept all but a few bank statements. I knocked up a spreadsheet, and started entering the data. Talk about an eye-opener! The closed Yorkshire account clocked up just shy of £170. So, I entered the other Yorkshire account. £2600!!! Much swearing and shock. However, my wife now knows there's a very good chance we'll get it back. Finally, there's the Halifax. They have [edit] us of £5430! :o Now, I beleive I can't claim for "Interest Debited", as it is interest charged for using the authorised overdraft. But that still leaves £4865 in charges. Has anybody else successfully recovered such an amount from Halifax? Or any other institution for that matter. Tomorrow, I shall send off my tenner for the statements and charges. Incidentally, has anyone been charged VAT on the Data Protection Act submission? About 14 years ago, I submitted a Data Protection Act form for my hospital records - just for curiosity - and they added VAT to the tenner. Also gonna look at my credit card statements...
