  1. Good Evening all. Yesterday I purchased a sencond hand car from a Dealership. A second hand Fiesta Zetec (2000) for a run around. On the test drive all went well & the car looked in good condition. After purchasing the car, the salesman & myself drove to the Post Office to tax it, on the way it started stalling and running abit rough. He said it had been laying idle for a few days and just needed a run out. Having little mechanical experience I accepted his suggestion. After a 20 mile journey home, I tried starting the car again, it didnt want to know, finally I got it started and the revs were going through the roof. Ive spent today looking for mechanical answers, and have now had enough. I am looking at dumping the car back at the dealership. Can anyone tell me if or what my rights are about with. Totally stumped.com Many Thanks Rob
  2. Hi all, I am on the lookout for some help. Heres my situation. I paid off my Monument Credit Card last feb. All was fine until July when I successfully claimed £763-00 pounds from them although I hadnt recieved the cheque yet. In August last year I started getting letters from them saying Im over my £500-00 credit limit by £263-00. Although the account was closed and paid. After advising them that they had made a monumental cock up, by debiting my cc £763-00 instead of sending me a cheque for the charges, they realised what theyd done and at last I recieved my cheque. Although some bright spark didnt reverse the transaction on the credit card, although I did get a letter saying the account was closed. Yesterday I looked at my credit file and found it still hadnt been reversed and Im owing them £933-00 and 4 months behind in the payments, which is now given me adverse credit. My mistake was throwing out all my correspondances from monument 2 weeks ago ( a new year clearout ), so I dont have anything with my account number on it, Monument say that they were bought out by Barclaycard last year and to phone them, so I did, Barclaycard told me to phone Monument and said as I didnt have anything with a Monument CC number on it, they cant find me in their system. So am I now officially screwed by someones mistake at Monument or can I take them to the cleaners ( and when I get them to the cleaners I'll certainly put them in a very hot wash). Any advise or support from anyone will be muchly appreciated, and I wish everyone on this site the very best of luck in claiming whats theres and not some multi million pound bank. Thanks for reading, Rob
  3. Hi all, Ive started a claim against Monument to recover £660 in charges, theyve replied offering me half back, and they have decreased their default charges to £12-00, and they are not prepared to review any of the charges that have been applied to my account at this rate. Can I still make a claim for the full amount or do I now have to take their offer, as their charge is now at the rate of the office of Fair Trading's suggestion. Many thanks Robc
  4. Hi all, Ive written to Abbey National requesting the list of charges made to my account over the past 6 years. Theyve replied back to saying they hold 6 years of that information, only 14 months. Is this a delaying tactic or do I have to write to someone else to get all my statements?? Many thanks in advance and good luck to everyone who is claiming. Robc

    robc V Nationwide

Hi, thanks for your very quick responce, and thanks for putting my nerves to rest. All the best Robc:D
  6. Hi all, ive started a claim in the courts against Nationwide, and they have replied by saying they are going to defend the claim. Does this mean that I could lose the claim, as they probably wouldnt defend it if they thought there wasnt any point, and what happen would happen if I made an error on the amount they owed me, would it harm my claim. a Very nervous Robc. Many thanks

    New January Rules

Hi all, Im pretty new to this site. I am in the process of taking Nationwide to the small claims court for unlawful charges applied to my account. But I hear that rules are changing for banks saying they can apply a small charge for these charges, can anyone tell me if this is true and will it affect my claim? Many thanks for your help in advance and good luck to everyone in the same situation as me.
