  1. Hi All, MCS recently sent me a letter stating that I owed them £110.97 as my outstanding balance. I phoned up and paid it. I have to admit, I've not kept track of what I've paid over the last couple years or so. I just got a call from them saying the previous payment I made was returned (it wasn't, I checked with the bank). So, they're saying I owe them £310.xx and will take me to court for it. I asked them for a statement of account before I made any further payments, because if I over paid them, God only knows how hard it might be to get my money back! The woman on the phone said they did not 'do' statements, and wouldn't make any exceptions. They also said that if I didn't make payments as per previous agreement, they'd send it to solicitors - I'm not really too fussed what they feel like doing to be honest. She then went on to deny that they had sent a letter showing my outstanding balance at £110.xx - she said they hadn't sent it and if I had one to give it to my solicitor for court! I'm not paying them anything until I get a statement - what do you guys make of this? Cheers in advance, Lee
  2. Hi All, Now I'm not a customer of Abbey, but my parents are. I was in a branch today with my mum, and an older gentleman was in front of us at the queue. When it was his turn, he went to the cashier in front of us. He was really polite, said good afternoon etc, asked for £100 from his current account, and for a cheque from his savings account. The cheque amount was £36 - now before anyone asks, I wasn't earwigging - the guy was right in front of me, like 6 feet away. The bit that really shocked me - he had to pay £10 for the cheque, because he didn't have his saving book with him. I thought it was absolutely disgusting, the worst part - at least I think so - is that guy was at least 75 - 80 years old. He even thanked the girl for the cheque and wished her a good day. It surely cannot cost a tenner to print a cheque!! If anyone from Abbey reads these threads, I think that particular part of your "policy" stinks. Rant over!! Sorry folks but it's been bugging me all day! lol.

Hi All - quick update. I've heard nothing from DG or the courts since my last posting on here. I've done some reading up (been away a lot) and have realised that lots of others aren't getting AQ's etc. I sent my first nudge letter to DG last week, do you guys think 10 days is acceptable? Looking through the threads, there are people who begun to claim after I did getting settled out before me! They really are muppets at DG. LeeS80.

    Eggs new APR rate

Hi All, Just wondering if anyone else had the lovely email from Egg advising that the APR was rising to 24.9% APR, or am I just unlucky? They must have hiked the interest twice in a year, I'm paying it off and closing the account, it's crazy! LeeS.

Checked my MCOL account yesterday and tried to click "Judgement" but wouldn't allow it. Checked again today and the status is "Defence 26/02/07" - something not quite right there as I didn't file the claim until 26/02!! lol. Just waiting to hear now, suppose I will get AQ in the post this week.......

Nope, not a thing, nothing from courts except a notice that Acknowledgement of Service has been filed. Nothing from the bank either. I sent a copy of my schedule of charges to both the court and banks sols.
