dpbuk-has anyone had any bother with them?
chocolatte replied to chocolatte's topic in General Consumer Issues
Apology accepted! -
I've reported it to the police anyway.
-
So who do you report these people to?
-
I get it now...by which point you have sent the cash to the [problematic] and are now left to pay back the bank who have re-emburssed the origional cheque owner. Very clever!
-
Yeah but what if the cheques are stolen from someone then that's a shame? This is assuming these cheque clear and these people are not just pillocks having a laugh and wasting people's time I'm intriqued, bit nosey some might say...
-
Also, if the cheque clears surely there's a tempatation there? 10% V-s The Lot? How do they know they can trust the random person they have emailed. If you run off with the lot, will they send the international arms dealers after you,
-
Where's the [problem]? Forgive me for being thick. Are the cheques dodgy/stolen?

Asda and use-by dates - a good thing or not?

I agree with Trojen -
Just wondered if anyone here has received these emails from people in Africa asking you to cash Cheques for them then wire the money to them in Africa? You get 10% of the cheque?

FACT That Google's amazing, any relation Barracad?

I understand what you are trying to say here. I hope they have returned home for the sake of their two other children and try to give them a sense of normality and stability in their little lives. The McCanns are probably torn between the frustration of wanting to actively search and campaign for Madeleine's safe return and taking care of the children left behind. The investigation is , of course, still ongoing, and in my opinion, they would probably benefit from being at home with their children trying to relieve their confused little minds. I hope I haven't offended anyone, I am merely thinking of their welfare.

Urgent Attention Please Read - Claims in Scotland
chocolatte replied to Bigmac versus's topic in Scotland Banks & Finance
Hi sabu, in my origional claim I did what you did and it all went through fine, however, the court staff all seem to have different ways of doing this. In box 4 some of the staff prefer you to write... The Persuer claims from the Defender the sum of £808.00 with interest on that sum at the statutory rate of 8%, plus the contractual rate which the Defender has charged the persuer, from 13/10/03 to 21/06/07. Also, the Persuer claims the costs of bringing this action, £39. Total Claim,£1450.83. Elgin Sheriff court has duristiction of this claim as monies are to be paid to the Persuer, also refer to attatchment. (the attatchment is the Juristiction from Unfair UK Bank Charges | legal help from Govan Law Centre, Glasgow, UK) Has this helped sabu? -

Got my cheque today, put it into Abbey, already done and won with that lot , when cheque clears will be sending you letter Ms Richmond!

OMG Jen, this is awful and I do sympathise with you although I think tatoos are really pointless and just graffiti on the body, also, this is a classic example of a permanant reminder of how silly it is to infinately deface yourself. I hope that you get compensation (a very large sum) and close the feckers down for this. While I have my opinions on tatoos I also believe that the guy abused your body and your trust and he should be emprisoned for this. Laugh or not! Good luck Jen X:)

Criminal Record? Do you get one for this?
chocolatte replied to infoplease's topic in General Consumer Issues
I'm sorry to hear this, it appears that the law protects criminals more than the victims sometimes, see my post... http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general-consumer-issues/99134-conducting-diy-forensics.html The person in question then turned round and told the police I hit him or tried to hit him, I can't remember which, and then I was questioned under caution, the cheek of it! -

Do you have a criminal record if you are questioned under caution, that sounds a bit serious to me? -
I accepted partial offer from Abbey in April and told them I would still be going to court for the rest and they paid the whole lot. If I owed a company money they would bite my hand off if I offerred them a partial settlement? Would they? I'm quite happy going to court and asking them to explain their actions to the Sheriff since I requested my money back in February, then going to the FOS and finally appearing in court after they tried to short change me.

This is just wrong, did the benefits agency take into consideration that the clamant was being fleeced at the time of their application and reflect their low income because of bank charges every month?
