Hey Toni, Just had a thought Abbey have 'till the 8th to reply to my claim and yours is on the 7th which is a Bank Holiday. Will they have to get it in before or just after?

Na....nothing. I keep checking my account daily...well hourly:rolleyes: . I'm waiting for a snotty reaction from them i.e withdraw my overdraft or something but nothing to date. I guess it's got to a stage where they're so unindated with claims that they're prioritising as they go along. :D Heyhoo they shouldn't have charged us so much in the first place!! Take Care Good luck!! -
If it was me then I wouldn't worry about it. Abbey haven't got a clue what's what anyway. Just go about your claim. Iim sure someone on here will advise you accordingly. Good luck!!

Hi Toni, I'm at the same stage as you. Abbey have untill the 8th of May to reply. I haven't received a goodwill payment yet tho!! I am begining to think that any day now there're going to take my overdraft away. I've stopped all DD's and standing/orders from coming out the account. But heyhoo I don't care!! I'm gonna win!!! Will be following your thread with interest!

Many thanks for the advice!! -
Hello all! I really need some advise please. I got a letter through the post today from a company called Cabot Financial. It related to a Barclaycard I had a few years back about 5 years ago I think. Anyhoo I called them up and tried to arrange a settlement with them. They want over £1100 off me:shock: ! I lived at a different address when I had the Barclaycard and a collection company offered me a settlement of £500. But I just moved and ignored it:rolleyes: . Cabot refused this offer when I asked them if they'd accept £500 and wanted £900, after a bit more talking they went down to £750. I then offered £650 but they wouldn't budge. So the telephone conversation ended there. She said she'd put the offer in writing and send it to me and I also said that I'd put my offer in writing and send it to them. I said that I would pay the £500 in £100 instalment per week. Any advise!!!!

OK here goes..... Received Notice of Issue today through the post. Abbey have 'till the 8th May to reply:p Getting nervy now.....bowels seem slightly loose.....but noetheless....EXCITED!!!! -
There's still hope then?? It's a shame that people are now trying to abuse the system by trying to claim more then what they're intitled too! Most of us just want back what's ours. However the banks wouldn't be in this position in the first place if there charges were reasonable. And also this was something that the bank said???? Hmmm:p Good luck:grin:

Will be watching with interest......... Hope you get the refund today:D

Yep....the squirrels have my vote.

Without hesitation I would phone the benefits agency and have your money STOPPED from going into that account. At a later date you can make an arrangement to pay off the account at an aggreeable rate. My advise would be to phone the benefits agency and explain what is happening with the account. And as the others have suggested get yourself another account. I'm in the process of claiming back my charges too and went along to the Yorkshire bank and opened up an acc with them. It was simple to easy. Good luck and let us know how you get on. Take Care

Now I'm really confused:? . Tried to file my N1 today and the clerk at the court house said I have to show my daily rate of interest on the Paricular of claim section. When I tried to point out to her that it's on the attached schedule, she said it has to go on the POC section.:-? So now I'm sat at home wandering where I've gone wrong. For the life of me I can't see it.:-| Please- any advice?? -

Righto I've done 3 copies of the N1 and attatched the charges. Now this is where I'm confused. I know I have to take 2 copies to the court, do they send one to the defendant? Or do I send a copy to them?? And do I just wait to hear from the court? Is it 28 days? Many thanks:D
