  2. Hello all, I shall be posting my initial letter to the Halifax tomorrow, so before I do, just need one piece of information... The £10 fee for release of Data protection (you know what I mean)... Who should I make the cheque payable to? Halifax Plc? Thanks in advance.
  3. Ah brilliant, thanks for the comments guys. I'm drafting my initial contact letter now!
  4. Just about to embark on claiming my charges back from Halifax, but before I do, I'm mildly concerned that they may decide to close my account and demand the full amount of my overdraft repaid immediately/ Has anybody had this experience or know of anybody that it has happened to? Thanks for your advice!
  5. Good colour coding on the forum titles too. Like the way you draw immediate attention to the "FAQ" section! Looks like the site is just going to keep growing!
  6. That's a rather good looking website! Look forward to moving over there!

Additionally, I would a

If, then, they do not provide proof, then it could be time to start asking for the money back. I suppose this way, they receive a bit of a warning shot and I can see whether it's even possible for me to get the money back before I start charging in and asking for it. So, to this end, I notice f
  10. I have had a student account with the Halifax bank for the past 2 years, and over the time I have been charged £28 on countless occassions for unauthorised overdraft usage - i.e a cheque or direct debit or card use takes the balance below the agreed overdraft facility. Now, being absolutely skint and in need of cash very quickly, I was referred to this website from another message board, but my initial reaction to the facts here are that they seem too good to be true! Is it really correct that I can claim back every instance that I have been charged £28? Obviously it is my fault it has
