  1. Thanks Hedgey, thst's what I'll do, it seems a lot easier that way!! As soon as I get my money paid back I'm off to PC World!!! Kids!
  2. Peace, You do indeed give me some hope!! Congratulations!!! Did Nat West say anything about closing your account in their, 'we know we're wrong so we'll pay but won't actually admit we're wrong' letter? I'm sorry to say I actually like the ease in which I can access my Nat West account and love the fact that their call centres are in the UK, all too often with my other account I'm on the phone twice as long trying desperately to explain what I'm actually after!! Raclan.

  4. Cheers me dears! One night I'll get chance to read more and chat more but for now my daughter is bugging me for my laptop.....again!!! When I get these charges back I can buy her her own and get her off my back!!! Later.xxxx.
  5. I read this Hedgey and seem to be more confused than ever - and I did a law degree!!! Will it look bad to the courts and therefore weaken my case (ie look like I don't know what I'm doing, which I blatantly don't!!) if I don't claim any interest at all?? Appreciate you helping a numbskull!!!
  6. Sounds 2 complicated to me hedgey, I think I'll be happy just with the charges back! Spoke to nice man at Nat West today to request statements for my current account and he told me there are so many people requesting statements at the moment that it may take some time, when I asked if he had any idea what the general stance was he said Nat West are being fair and all the claims he had heard of had or were been paid out!! So....now going to send SAR to Abbey for the joint account!!! (Don't worry I'll start a new thread in Abbey area for that one - I've learnt that much at least, just confused about everything else!!!)
  7. Disappointing....gone thru all statements and charges are not nearly as much as I thought! Now realise that most of the charges are on my Current Plus account not Advantage Gold! Question....can I claim for both accounts' charges in the same letter? Still confused about what interest I can claim back for being overdrawn even after reading the charges guide - thanks for that tho tant! The beat goes on!!! xx.
  8. Hee hee! Didn't even need to ring - rest of statements arrived today. Now I'm confused about what I can claim back - can I claim 'card misuse fee'? There's a few of those!! Also I'm unsure what interest I can claim, can I only claim the interest they have charged me if it was as a result of their charges taking me overdrawn? Unsure about this as for a couple of years I was pretty much overdrawn constantly! Gotta head to bed but just wanted to update and seek your advice!! Night guys!
  9. Thanks Bob / Hedgey. As I requested my statements over the phone I am going to ring them again tomorrow and also send a SAR to back it up. I'm impressed they've actually sent any statements as I didn't expect any at all, especially not this quickly (I requested them only last week!) Looking good so far. I can wait another 40 days for the others. I'll post the SAR recorded delivery tomorrow!! Advice is second to none!
  10. Hi, Anyone have any idea where I stand on WFTC trying to reclaim £3,500 in overpayment after I contacted them several times to warn them of it and was told it was fine? They're claiming this sum from tax year 2004/5. I can't afford £3,500! Does anyone have experience of this, like how long they wait before they take you to court? Is there any way of getting out of paying it? If it goes to court and I lose how much will I have to repay, all or will they let me pay it back on a payment plan? I'd appreciate any experiences people have had with recoupment of overpayments by WFTC. Thanks.
  11. So......received 18 months worth of statements starting April 2001 in post today. Surprisingly well packaged considering other threads I've read!! Amounts to £975 already so looking forward to receiving the next 4 and half years worth. Any tips on what to do next would be very welcome! I intend to photocopy the statements and then get to work with a highlighter and a calculator! I'll have a look at the calculator on this site as well. Quick question - do I add interest in my first claim letter? I've also set up a savings account and another current account just in case!! Hee hee, quite excited now. GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK TW*T WEST!!! Will keep you posted!
  12. Thanks Rory. I meant how long is likely to take until I win or lose worst case scenario. Just wondering if I'm getting my wedding frock from Oxfam or Vera Wang!! Cheers. xx.
  13. Hmmmmmm, not convinced!! Any ideas how long this could all take - worst case scenario? Been trying to work it out by reading threads but keep clicking on other links and losing myself - it's a minefield of info!!! Thanks all. xx. P.S. It is just statements I want - don't think I have any defaults, at least not with Nat West!! Hee Hee!! I'm actually quite fired up and excited about this now with all this support!
  14. Help!!! Think I've made a fatal error by letting the NW guy order my statements. After reading a few more threads am I right in thinking that if you send a SAR they send you charges rather than all statements and will send you all info they have on file? Confused!!
  15. Thanks Hedgey and Rory! I can't believe how supportive everyone is of each other on here. It makes me determined to get my money back!! Especially as most of my charges date back to when I was a single mum, doing a degree and working two jobs at the same time to try and keep my head above water and a roof over my daughter's head!! Tugs at the heart strings doesn't it!!! Well thanks and I'll keep you updated. Just a query - do I have to post a new thread when I have a new stage in my claim or is it ok to carry on with this one?? Sorry I'm a bit new to chat room / forum type things!! Thanks
