  10. Hi all, I have had a mattress from Next for just under three years, we noticed a considerable dip in the mattress about six months after purchasing and contacted them, they never got back to us and after periods of time in hospital recently contacted them again. The mattress has never fit the bed, also a Next item. However an inspector came and told me the 2.5 inch dip was normal for a mattress is this age. Next told me that because the mattress had a stain this has caused the dip and was not a manufacturing fault. They said the stain has caused the pillowtop (which was less than 0.5cm), to decompress and had caused the 2.5" dip I asked them about staining on a mattress which has had the usual human activity on it and stated that the stain was actually nowhere near the dip. They now want to send another inspector out. Is this right? i feel they are just going to try and cover up what they originally said? Anyone got any advice please? C x
  11. I went into the EE store today as my iPhone does not connect to the internet, the battery is terrible, the home button doesn't work and a few other issues. The guy i saw was so rude he said that they didn't have to do anything and it was down to apple. I said my contract is with EE not apple and he kept banging on about me paying for a service and the phone is apples. Whilst this maybe true he said i only had a year to sort out my phone. I told him the eu regulations were two years and it states this on apples website also. He got really grumpy with me and literally frog marched me out of the shop. Whilst i don't like dealing with people like him, what do i do. i have a phone that nearly works and i am paying for extra data allowance because it is constantly searching and i have in contract until april next year. I also told him about the sales of goods act and he said they weren't allowed to help me because the phone was more than 14 days old. Does anyone have an email address where i can complain to and back this up with some sort of strength?
  12. Hi bank fodder, when you say sue do you mean through the small claims court or through the ombudsman? x
  13. I made a claim for accidental damage of some items in my bedroom. Lady came around took pictures, got some to come and clean items which they couldnt, replaced two carpets all within a short space of time. Then we seemed to hit a stumbling block. She asked for quotes for replacement items, i went on one website and got quotes for like for like items. She then came back to me saying there were inaccuracies in her information because originally i had stated the items were from different suppliers. I spoke to her and told her i only went to one suppliers because it was easier. She didnt ask for quotes from different manufacturers. Then she started going on about proof of ownership. As i had no receipts for items as they are fairly old and out of warranty. She queried my duvet because it was made from duck down and not a standard issue duvet. Which i was not very impressed about. Every email seems to take over a week to reply to and then i have to push for it, this claim was made on the 5th march and is still not settled. She asked for photos of the duvet labels to verify the quality. She then started harping on about proof of ownership?? The duvet is on my bed. i managed to find a delivery note for the duvet from john lewis and emailed that to her. She has now sent a letter stating that they have been in contact with john lewis and that the information on the delivery note is incorrect the number does not match the name or address on the note? What id like to know is what are the time frames for this sort of thing? She seems very unprofessional with her assuming i dont own stuff in my house and that i should only have basic bedding etc. She did give me a settlement figure two weeks ago which included a sale item and the wrong size bed. Which i queried and she hasnt got back to me. Could anyone tell me the timeframe for this sort of claim and are they allowed to call up and query a purchase without my prior consent? surely the company shouldnt be giving out any information? Thanks
  14. My husband just sat on my daughters bed to read her a bedtime story and the bottom of the bed collapsed, this is one of two we bought as bunks and have recently separated, the side of the bed has completely split! I'm now concerned that the other may do the same. Obviously I shall call them first thing but am I entitled to a refund due to it being unsafe? It's nearly a year old x

  20. I posted a thread on here a few months back, our sofa is a year old and is falling apart after numerous problems, we called dfs who came out to restuff, which just made the problems worse, they havent resolved the problems with the arm chair, this was back last year. someone came round in january after we explained that the problem is worse than ever, they said they would replace the fluff inside the cushions with foam ones and get the sofa fixed and the armchair too. That was in january, they said 6-8 weeks, when we rang at ten weeks they said it was up to twelve weeks, which it has now been and the foam was ordered in from italy and wasnt in yet. my husband explained that now both of the supporting legs had gone and i have been having ongoing treatement for back problems since the sofa is less than supportive. Our armchair is an 'ACEENT' chair which now the stripes are coming off. we had told them of thisa problem before but they dismissed it saying it was how the sofa was in the first place as it was a side piece of a cushion. and the back is now caving in. I've had enough ive given them enough chance i will not sit in pain whilst they feed us ridiculous excuses. i dont even wish for a replacement. so is my next option omburdsman or county court? xx
  21. Well Advicewanted, they said it would take 4-6 weeks in january to replace the cushions, at no charge. it is now 8 weeks later and no word from dfs, its not looking very good. im thinking of writing them a letter and asking them to pay for all of the osteopath appointments ive had to have due to an unsupporting sofa. x
  22. Hi, I had my mac repaired through aa insurance and a company called Bevalued! They replaced the screen back in november and two days ago the screen broke. i called them up and told them the screen was faulty but they said their repairs are only covered for three months. i said it wasnt the repair that was the problem but the actual part supplied, he said nothing he could do about it and it was a standard warranty? surely this isnt right, i paid £150 for them to replace a screen that theyre now saying only needs to last three months? Any help please ? x
  23. I have iPhone 4 wast told I needed to change plan when I bought it at Christmas?
  24. Hi, just wanted some advice really. My husband and i both have phones through orange, got our best plan review through and his can go down from £40 to £15 a month. However mine will only be changed from £40 to £30 and i lose my mobile internet which will cost an extra £5 per month. I have an iphone ( which is mine i didnt buy through orange) and he has a samsung galaxy, same deal, its his own. Is it the case that i am being put on a higher plan (despite my usage being lower than his in all areas) because i own an iphone? and if so can they do this? Thanks Carli
  25. Got someone coming out on monday, apparently they are the senior person. They said something about replacing the fibres with foam cushions but obviously this is only 1/3 of the problems we have been having x
