  1. Just posted my donation to show my appreciation for the help i have received but i have been reading that donations to the site are minimal in relation to the successful claims. I would not have been able to reclaim my money if it were not for this site and neither would most of us so i urge people to donate so the site can carry on and help many more in the future.
  2. thank you for joining my threads cos i wasn't really sure how to do this and was getting confused as to what i had posted and where.
  3. thank you - i have told everyone about this site and know of many people who are now claiming back their money.
  4. Just checked my bank account and i can't believe the Halifax have settled my claim (so excited!!) - here's how 1/11/06 - requested statements via telephone and received them within days 6/11/06 - sent initial letter requesting £3419.34 for my bank charges over 6 years 21/11/06 - received letter offering £1000.00 as a gesture of goodwill 21/11/06 - sent letter of refusal 28/11/06 - sent LBA 14/12/06 - filed court claim and the Halifax had until 2nd Janurary 07 to reply but did not bother 02/01/07 - sent my judgement to the court from which they ordered Halifax to pay me outstanding amount including £120 court costs and 8% interest 11/01/07 - £3545.34 PAID IN FULL INTO MY ACCOUNT SO 2 MONTHS AND 2 WEEKS FROM REQUESTING MY STATEMENTS, MY CLAIM HAS BEEN SETTLED AND I AM VERY HAPPY BUT I COULD NEVER HAVE DONE THIS WITHOUT THE HELP, GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT FROM THIS SITE. I WILL GO NOW AND LOOK AT HOW I CAN DONATE TO THIS WONDERFUL SITE AND THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED ME ALONG THE WAY.
  5. When i got my letter offering me a "gesture of goodwill", i sent the template letter of refusal back to them from this site which states that you will accept their offer only as part payment and not as full settlement - i know it can be tempting when they offer you some money but fight on to the end and get back what they owe you. They have sent me that letter offering me their "gesture of goodwill" twice and each time i have refused as it was only a third of what i was climing. I have since filed a court claim against them from which they have not replied within the 2 week timescale and the court have now sent them an order to pay me the money. Of course they claim not to have a copy of any letters sent to them and i have not got it in my bank yet but feeling optomistic. You will find the letter to reject their offer (if thats what you decide to do) on the template letters on this site - GOOD LUCK!!!
  6. Good luck with your claim smit i will look out for yours too
  7. It has took me some time to realise i should be posting in this forum as my claim is with the Halifax so i am here now and would like to share my journey Unsure and nervous I telephoned for my statements and received them within 1 week - sent my first letter on 6th November. Got an offer of £1000 although i am claiming for £3346. Obviously i refused this offer despite them trying to tell me in the letters that it was my fault for managing my account in a bad way and trying to make me feel that they were doing me the favour of offering some of the money back (believed some of this at this stage) Annoyed and determined Sent a letter of rejection and did not her anything within the timescales so sent off my LBA on 29th November. In the meantime, received another letter off them offering exactly the same amount which stated "please let me have the signed acceptance form ONCE you are ready to accept our offer" - what a cheek!!! (realised that they are nothing but bullies) I phoned customer services to tell them i would be taking court action and they said they did not receive or could not find my LBA and could i send them another (yeah whatever!!!) I told them that i was not prepared to give them a furter 14 days and that i would be persuing my claim as stated in my last letter. Confused & frustrated Time to follow my word and persue a claim against them. Filling in my forms and calculating my interest proved a little confusing and time consuming but help, advice and guidance from this site has been invaluable and i would not have got this far without them. 14th Dec - took my papers to the county court and paid my fee of £120 - not nice at this time of year. The girl was nice who is dealing with it and said that she would like claim from her bank - offered her advice and gave her this sites address over the counter!!! Confident and Ready for Action Can't wait now until the bank get my papers - even if they defend it i feel confident and will go to court and put my case across without feeling ashamed of "how i have managed my account" - i will make them feel ashamed of how their high charges have caused me to struggle each month. (However, i do hope they will offer me my money back in full before Christmas!!!!) Excited, hopeful and grateful Excited about the postman coming and hopeful that i will get my money back - will keep you posted on this. If i do get my money back, i will definitely be donating to this site - i have been telling everyone about how good it is and how helpful people are - could not be more grateful Hope to be concluding this journey before christmas!!!
  8. thank you claire 78 - will do that today, Not sure how to post the thread in halifax forum, do i just go that forum and write it in there?
  9. Could anyone offer some advice please. I am already at court action stage of my claim but my sister has decided to take the plunge and make her own claim. When she phoned to request her statements for the last 6 years, they told her she would have to pay £10 per every 50 statements which would cover approx 3 years. Is this normal for HSBC and can they do this? When i requested my statements, the Halifax charged me £5 for the whole six years of statements
  10. Hello redsonja, i am at the court action stage of my claim and it is a bit scary but the more you persue your claim, the more confident and determined you will become. Keep reading this site because it will give you invaluable advice and guidence and help you feel that you are not alone. The Halifax are the only ones to feel shamed, they have taken thousands from me and for years i just thought it was my fault but now i am determined to reclaim my money and will not take a penny less!!! Good luck with your claim
  11. I am about to send my N1 form and schedule of charges to the county court today but am getting a bit confused about exactly what i send to who. Do i send 2 N1 forms and schedule of charges to the court and do i need to send an N1 form to the bank as well. Could someone please advise whether or not i need to send a covering letter with this information.
  12. well we are both in it together, at about the same stage too. Will keep you posted if i hear anything - and let me know how you get on - good luck
  13. Yes. I have sent my LBA and they now have 1 week tomorrow to reply. I will have to start reading up on what my next step is if they don't reply.
  14. Hello everyone - new to the forum but have started the ball rolling to claim back the money that halifax owe me. They have been quicker in responding than i thought after reading some stories on this site but still only half way there! Requested my bank statements on 1st November, sent my request for money letter on 6th November and have today received an offer of £1000 as a "gesture of goodwill" (thats how they see it). They have told me in this letter that they are not prepared to refund all the charges (has anyone else been told this?) on my account and reminded me that they have the right to close my accounts if i do not manage them correctly. As this offer of 'good will' is only a third of what i am claiming, i have sent them a letter of rejection today - waiting in hope that they will refund the full amount - preferably before christmas!!
