  1. Thanks, I have already prepared the letter and will send it once the 2 weeks are up! Wish me luck!!
  2. I wrote to Abbey on 30/5/07 to claim back my partners bank charges and I received a letter from them this morning (and a leaflet on "how to complain"!). It says they will investigate and get back to him in 4 weeks even though I used your template letter which included this: "I will give you 14 days to reply to me accepting, unconditionally, my request in principle and letting me know a date by which I will receive payment." Should I be patient and wait the 4 weeks or am I being too soft?? Should I now send them the letter before action?? Thanks!
  3. Please could someone help me with this, the following is part of the letter I am about to send my bank asking for payment: "I calculate that you have taken £XXXXX plus £XXX which you have charged me in overdraft interest for the sum which you have taken. Total £XXXXX." I am abit confused about the part in red, I get charged overdraft interest every month (even when I haven't gone over my overdraft limit) so do I add up each month or just the one's where I have incurred charges?? Thanks!
  4. Thanks Lula, will do that just to be on the safe side!
  5. Both my partner and I have started the process of claiming back our bank charges, he is with Abbey and I am with HSBC. We also have a joint account with Abbey which we are not claiming back charges from. If Abbey get funny and want to close his current account ( claiming charges back) can they also close our joint account??
