  1. Thanks Freaky, I have spent the last 3 hours reading up on the SOGA and I think I can understand enough to go back to the dealer and ask them to carry out the work at no cost to me, if they reject this, I can produce a letter from the various threads I have read this morning, detailing it is the responsibility of the dealer to prove the fault was not present at the time of sale?
  2. Hi all, I purchased a BMW 320td MY2002 with 152,104 miles on the clock at time of purchase on 06/01/2012 for £1999, £2129 inc tax that they put on for me. The car now has 153,420 miles. After a couple of days the car lacked a bit of power and I booked it in to be be looked at the 1st week in February. The dealer advised the MAF sensor needed replacing and it was not covered by the warranty, I stupidly paid ~£89 for the part to be replaced. The car still suffered intermittent lack of power for the next few weeks and then last week the car had plumes of white smoke coming from the exhaust and had spat 5 litres of oil all over the road. I booked the car in to the garage, which they have now had since Friday 31st March (reported to them 30th March) and I have just heard back from them today, that the turbo has blown and needs replacing. I have been quoted a cost of £976 for repair. Obviously I told them not to do anything to the car and that I would be in touch this afternoon. I am not sure with my rights on the SOGA so thought I would ask you guys for an experienced helping hand in how to approach my trader. Cheers Allan
