  1. (Using gaffer's log-in yet again) Posted my response off to them on Monday, stating that I'd be willing to accept their offer, providing they remove the Default So we wait
  2. (Still using my gaffer's log-in) So do I do this by written means or do I simply call them? Is it F.A.O The Judge too?
  3. It's me, just using my bosses log-in details How do I go about getting it struck out then? If so, does that mean I can actually claim?
  4. Go to the FAQ section. Read as much there as you can. Follow the steps and templates. Most of all, DO NOT PANIC! Should you have any worries or questions, post them on here on the section that deals with your bank. You have nothing to fear, best of luck.
  5. Is the site down or is my computer being bizarre?
  6. Also, to claim this back, do I follow the same steps as if I was reclaiming bank charges (using the same template letters, spreadsheets et al)?
  7. Many thanks for your help. This letter has actually made me a mite angry, but even more determined now!
  8. Cheers for the advice!! My confidence had been soaring until I got this. Now I'm gonna kick some (proverbial) arse!
  9. OK, Sent my prelim letter a few week back, with no reply, sent my LBA a couple of weeks ago and got this response today. Bearing in mind, the amount I'm claiming is entirely from failed DD charges to my Debit Card, having read all the forums and various responses people have had, this concerned me a little as I haven't seen anyone else have this yet Quote: Dear Mr xxxxxxxx I am writing in response to your recent letter. Naturally I am concerned you have found cause for complaint and from the outset please accept my apologies for the inconvenience this has caused. To summarise, you are requesting the refund of any default charges applied to your account in view of recent media coverage surrounding the subject. Following publication of the OFT's report on industry-wide credit card charges, I can confirm that HBOS is reducing its card default fees - although it does not support all of the OFT's findings. HBOS disagrees with the legal analysis of default fees outlined in the OFT's statement, published in April. However, the group confirmed 2nd June 2006 that it will be reducing default fees across all its credit card product range to £12 with effect from 1 August 2006. And until that time, all exisitng terms and conditions will apply. At present the findings only apply to credit cards, so unfortunately, no refund of charges is due to you. I trust this response has clarified our position and resolves this matter for you. I enclose a copy of our complaints procedures. Should you remain dissatisfied we'll provide you with details of how you can contact the Financial Ombudsman Service for assistance. If I do not hear from you within the next eight weeks I will assume you are satisfied with our response to your letter and close my file accordingly. Yours sincerely Liam Pollit Customer Care Manager So is this a classic fob-off? If so, it has made me only even more determined. Just need some re-assurance!

  11. Much obliged ladies and gents. ANOTHER crusade to launch
  12. I had a Retail Loan Account with the HFC, Taken out 4 years ago and subsequently paid off last year. Can I claim the charges back (£15 a pop) for missed payments on that? The same account also gave me a 'Default Notice' on my credit files. Owt I can do about that too?
  13. My wife was right...there is a block in your toilet but erm...I've fixed it now! Cheers for the info Dave
  14. If you're claiming for 2 different account numbers with the same bank, do you have to send 2 separate demoninations of £10 for the DPA request or can you put both account numbers on the same letter and just pay a solitary tenner?
