  1. No one has given permission. He has parked there before on and off. However, this is the first time he has declared sorn
  2. If it's the property of our houses can we do anything then?
  3. We live in a cul de sac where the road is tarmac. However, a section comes off the tarmac and is unadopted concrete. The road has 5 houses built on it and opposite is a parking area which is unadopted. The area is for our 5 houses as the road outside our house is narrow so we are unable to park outside. When I purchased the house the deed stated the parking area was the responsibility of the 5 House owners. Now one of our neighbors who lives on a public road has declared his vehicle Sorn and parked it in our parking area. We have asked them politely to remove it. However, they refused. So my question, is there any way we can get it moved legally? Thanks
  4. Thanks again. Last question before I get the ball rolling. Can they make me pay return postage? I imagine postage won't be cheap for a 2 and 3 seater sofa.
  5. Does this mean I'm stuck with it? Can I return it if there’s nothing wrong with it? Absolutely! We offer a 30 day returns guarantee on most items. (We’re nice like that.) So if you need to bring it back, just bring it back to any Argos store. Or if you got it delivered, we can collect it for free and refund your original delivery charge. If it is a small item you can also return it to a store at a convenient time for you and we can refund you immediately. However it may take 5 – 7 days for your bank to process the money. We’ll either refund the cash onto the original payment method or offer you an exchange. Easy. You just need these 3 things: Your proof of purchase The item should be unused, in its original packaging and in a re-sellable condition Any free items that came with your product unused and in a re-sellable condition Thanks for being so helpful Andy
  6. Thanks for the reply. Even if packaging has been disposed and as its a sofa do I pay to returning item?
  7. I purchased a sofa from Argos online, it was delivered a couple of days ago. I assembled it yesterday and disposed of the packaging as I didn't notice any faults. However, after a few hours of sitting it's so unbelievably uncomfortable, to the extent of my bum and legs going numb. I don't think I can live with it for much longer its so uncomfortable. My question is can it be returned for a refund or exchange as it has been used and has no packaging? Still in perfect condition though. Thanks
  8. Hello. We have 2 children and we were receiving working tax credits for both of them. My eldest son left school in February to start an apprenticeship so we informed child benefit using their online form. A section of the form asked Have you informed Tax credits, to which I selected no a box then appeared “Don’t worry we will inform them for you” or words the that effect. A couple of week later we received a lettericon saying the child benefit payment will stop at the end of the month We thought our Tax credits had been adjusted as our amount reduced by £5. That is until the renewal pack arrived in July and it appears Tax credits were not informed by Child benefit and we now owe £700 in overpaymenticon. We have appealed but they have overturned the appeal and want the money back. The letter just looks like a standard reply though We followed code of practice 26 but HMRC did not. Is there anything else I can do as we are struggling financially at the moment? This was posted in benefit thread by mistake. Please delete post from Benefit forum.

  10. Thanks for the link. I will have a read. I emailed the company and received this reply. Thank you for your email, I am sorry to read of your concerns, just to inform you I have forwarded this on the Installation Team who would cover your area for them to look into. In relation to your Dishwasher - this may not be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty, that comes with the appliance. The Installation Manager once he has your records can ascertain this and advise you accordingly, should it be out of this warranty then it could still be reported but you would be liable for any cost. In relation to your worktop joint, Your Installation Manager will need to discuss this with you as to how this may be rectified. This is covered under your guarantee but the free fit period elapses after 12 months so there will be a cost implication again I am sure the Installation Manager will cover this with you.
  11. We purchased a fitted kitchen from a well know retailer, the cost included fitting. After 2 years the dishwasher is faulty and the kitchen worktops have started to swell between the joints where water is getting in. I have contacted the company and they say the dishwasher warranty has expired, in addition the 12 month fitting warranty has also expired. The company now say i will need to pay for the dishwasher and worktop repair. Is there anything I can do? Thanks.
  12. Was not informed it was a disciplinary. It was more of a telling off and the result was you are going back to the checkouts. The supervisors are always being threatened with going back as a cashier if targets are not met. Thanks
  13. Contract was not updated. Yes I completed training for supervisor. Not sure if it's an official role. But manager approached me quite a few years ago asking if I wanted to change my role to supervisor. Thanks for the reply.
  14. Hi I need some advice please. I work in a well known clothes retail store for 7 years now, initially I started as a chashier but after 6 months I was given more responsibility which lead me to supervisor duties. I have been in the supervisor role now for over 6 years. my manager informed me recently due to a complaint by a member of staff against me I now have to go back to being a cashier although the pay is the same and less responsibility I would like to continue my current role. I requested the proposal in writing however my manager informed me my original contract still says I'm a chashier so I muSt do what I'm told, although now the manager says it will only be temporary and I will be a supervisor again soon. My concern is when I go back as a cashier I may never go back to the supervisor role which I really enjoy. So any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  15. If they had told me the timing belt had not been changed it would have effected my decision to buy the car. They had the service history and handbook so they were more informed than me that this would cause extra cost to the buyer. Do I have a case to go back to the retailer?
  16. They have stamped the 60 month and not the 72. I will check the oil and the oil filter. Thanks for your help so far.
  17. I have the service book and no mention of timing belt change yet the handbook states it should have been changed on the 72 month service which was completed by the dealer I purchased the car from.
  18. Thank you I have had a quick skim through on my tablet and they should have made me aware of the vehicles history which would have effected my decision to purchase. I will read the rest later. Thanks again.
  19. Purchased a second hand car from a reputable dealer 2 days ago however when I got the car home I read through the manual it states the timing belt should be replaced when the car is six years old and the car is in fact 6 years of age. I have called a garage and I have been quoted £400 to replace it. The dealer serviced the car before collecting however on the 6 year service the timing belt should have been replaced which hasn't been done. My question is should the dealer have made me aware of the belt change and do I have any right to pursue this? Many thanks.
  20. The salesman visited us on 13th March and he said if we agreed to the kitchen before he left it would be fitted within 3 weeks. So we agreed and kitchen was due to be fitted the first week of April. Or so we thought, as we had a phone call at the end of march saying it would not be ready until the middle of April. A few days later they called us again saying that it would now be the end of April as the cupboards were still being made. The kitchen units are now being delivered tomorrow and we were told we would recieve a call the day before to confirm a time. We did recieve a call but not to confirm a time, as that is dealt with by another department but infact to advice us the cooker splashback will not be available until the end of May. The fitters will be here on 7th may. I feel like I have been conned! I paid a £3000 deposit with credit card would I be in my rights to cancel and if I did would I get my deposit back. The reason is if the service is this bad now what will it be like after the kitchen is fitted?
  21. I have also posted this thread on a well known av forum The owner of the company has complained so the Founder of the site wants proof of my alligations With pleasure i said Thanks for all of your advise
