  1. Hi Kate, Well I knew what I meant! The last letter I sent was 'Request for Repayment of Charges', so I haven't sent the LBA yet. But do I need to? After the response I got today, I'm tempted to go straight to the 'Particulars of Claim' (N1) one and file it with the Small Claims Court. Wouldn't that just delay everything by another 14 days? 2. Hey all,Got a letter from NatWest this morning, offering me £140 as a 'goodwill gesture'. However, they owe me about £2000! I think this offer's taking the **** somewhat, so you can bet I'll be rejecting it.I was only on the second letter though - do I just jump to the fourth one now? There's no point really sending the third one, is there? Isn't that just for when the bank fails to respond to the request? Not sure whether to just file it with the courts and take it from there. Some advice would be appreciated!Swanny Brasco
  3. Thanks Tracey! Yes, I thought as much! As if it costs them that much (£30) to bounce a cheque - it's scandalous! I'm actually quite enjoying this now!
  4. I'm on to the fourth letter now (the N1 form). Got a letter this morning refusing to pay any of my charges (about £700), because of the stuff they provide free, e.g. provision of cheque books and cards, monthly statements etc. They have also explained why they apply charges - as if I don't understand the issue! Here's a quote from the letter: "I can confirm that the charges have been correctly calculated and it is not the bank's usual policy to refund charges applied in accordance with our published tariff. "This being the case, no refund is due." We all know that they do pay out, so clearly they are trying to fob me off. What they don't explain is what it actually costs them to return a direct debit or bounce a cheque. I'm off to fill in the N1 form now. I'll keep you posted on my progress.
  5. Just a quick one to say I sent my letter to HSBC a couple of weeks ago, and got my statements this morning. They didn't cash the £10 cheque. Adding up all my charges, it comes to £694, so here I go with the next step! I'll come back on here when I hear something. Swanny Brasco
  6. Hi all, I'm Swanny Brasco and I'm a spendaholic! No not really, although I have had some financial issues over the past couple of years (mainly related to setting up my own business), so thought I'd see what I could get back! Feel free to drop me a line. Speak soon, Swanny Brasco
