  1. I ordered some spares from 1stChoice last week. The part has not arrived and the phone number of the supplier no longer works. Any idea what I can do now to get my cash back?
  2. Hi, Recieved a reply to my prelim' letter today, it basically said the bank are within their rights to charge and the charges are fair becaouse "a) The cost of the bank of maintaining administrative systems relating to unauthorised overdrafts, unpaid cheques and direct debits and abuse of cheque and debit cards for the pupouse of keeping a level of overdrawing under review and controlled as far as possible. b)The increased risk of loss to the bank arising from such unauthorised transactions and the associated cost of enforcement and recovery systems. c) The need to operate standard procedures and to set standard charges in order to avoid the substantial cost of individual assesment in relation to each particular case. Taking all the above into account and having regard the information you have given, I am not prepared to refund the charges on your account." I will now send the next letter.
  3. I phoned Yorkshire Bank and they agreed to suspend the £8.00 charge until I put some money into the account! I have all my bank statements so do I need to send the DPA letter? Will I need to send copies of the bank statements ur just a list of the charges and the dates. I will get the Prelim' letter off as soon as poss! Thanx
  4. HI, Just come accross this site. I am currently being charged £8.00 per day for being over my overdraft limit. The reason I am over the limit is a £25.00 charge for going over the limit last month. So far this month, over £200 in charges have accumilated and are still growing by £8.00 per day. (there was a couple of £35.00 charges for uncleared direct debits too). On top of this I will be charged another £25.00 next month for being 'over the limit' this month! I intend to use the advice etc on this site to claim it back, but, as I have no money to put into my account to cover the charges so for this month, is there any way I can stop the charges accruing further? I had to give up work earlier this year due to bad health, having recovered I am starting to make money again but I have requested that it go into another account as I need money to live and if it goes into Yorkshire bank I won't see any of it and therefore won't be able to eat etc!!
