  1. I have claimed interest at 15.9% with my claim for Mint Card - when I first claimed against Barclaycard I wasn't too sure about the whole interest situation - since then I have read and read again the many threads on the subject and felt confident enough to submit a claim for refund of charges with interest attached.
  2. Received letter from London mortgages dated 28th September saying they were sorry to learn that I was concerned with the settlement amount of my loan - they will commence their investigations immediately and will be back in touch to advise me of the outcome - it may take up to 8 weeks - (I think not!) and they send me a complaints leaflet. LBA sent off on Monday 2nd October by registered post - will let you know how I get on ;-)
  3. Hi Natsmanc Are in the same position as you - my husband was offered half of what we are claiming back - they credited his barclaycard account - he hasn't used this for ages - we rang them and they transferred the money to our bank account - it took a couple of days to go through but once it was in our account we sent the letter accepting the money as part payment - received the standard reply that they weren't going to refund the full amount - LBA gone off today by registered post. We want the full amount back and are willing to take them to Court for it.
  4. received my money direct into my bank account yesterday - can a moderator move my thread to successful claims please -thanks
  5. Received a letter from Ace this morning - Mr D Rapson - states "in light of recent OFT investigation we are currently reviewing our administration charges. However, until this review is complete our normal trading terms apply. However, notwithstanding this, as a gesture of goodwill and without prejudice, I have enclosed vouchers to the value of £235.00. Our records reflect that you have incurred charges to the value of £274.00 since your accounts inception. However, as charges to the value of £40.00 have previously been credited the vouchers enclosed cover the remaining charges on your account and can be used against a future order. The £10.00 payment that you sent with your previous letter will be refunded to you and will follow under separate letter. Assuring you of our best intentions at all times". I am pleased as this was a quick response from Ace- I would have preferred the cash but can still use the vouchers for Christmas - my account is clear so they will come in very handy! Very happy:)
  6. Hi Natsmanc Are you sending a list of the charges with your LBA and if so are you putting the interest of 8% on there or do you not do this before you issue your moneyclaim (if needed)? Can you clarify this for me. Thanks:(
  7. Hi Skbuncks Thanks for the advice - I haven't claimed interest from them in my priliminary letter - just sent them a list of the charges I was reclaiming - do I not have to send them the charges list again with my LBA and claim the 8% on there, as I understand it I can claim 8% interest off them if it goes as far as court claim.
  8. Hi - need some advice Husband received letter this morning after sending letter accepting partial refund but stating he was still going to claim the remainder of the charges - Barclaycard offered £228.00 - they put this in our bank account - this is half of what we are claiming back - the letter this morning basically says bog off - we won't pay the remainder - we think that it is fair when customers break the terms of the agreement with us to recover the costs. Therefore they are not prepared to consider his request for any further refund. Help - do we now do a moneyclaim or send letter before action with list of charges and interest we are claiming.
  9. Hi there, have had some statements back and am really confused about the spreadsheets and interest calculations. I want to claim interest on my charges both bank and credit cards - I have settled with one bank for the full amount of charges, but didn't claim any interest - don't know if I did the right thing or not - are the interest calculations on the spreadsheets right - it says 18.20%? or do I have to amend it and if so how do I do this? I know I can only claim 8% if my claim goes to Court - I am interest in claiming the interest owed before Court - Hope this makes sense - Sorry if I seem dense - I have been through the site and can't find the answer to my question so far. Can anyone advise Thanks confused:confused:
  10. Zoot - thanks for your link - your letters are excellant - I will send LBA out first thing on Monday - wish me luck - I will keep you informed. Les Gunn - thanks for the encouragement - this site is soo good - it really helps to get advice and support from others in the same position.
  11. Just looked through the letter templates - can anyone advise which letter I should send now - they have replied, although not saying much and just delaying my timescale - letters in templates don't seem to seem right in my case - any help would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Thanks Cillitbanger - will send off next letter.
  13. I have received a letter from London Mortgage Company this morning - I sent them the great letter posted on this website by Zoot claiming my EPC. They had until 2nd October to reply. They have stated in their letter "we are sorry to learn that you are concerned with the settlement amount of your Loan Account. We will commence investigations immediately and will be back in touch with you very shortly to advise you of our progress. We want to resolve your problem quickly and fairly but in some instances, a complex case may take time to investigate thoroughly. So that you know what to expect, we have included our complaints handling procedure for your information. In the vast majority of cases we resolve problems a lot quicker than stated in our procedures." Thank you in advance for your patience whilst we commence our investigations. It's actually signed by Matt White - Senior Mortgage Associate (In their complaints leaflet it does say that they will send an acknowledgement within 5 days of receipt of initial letter (this did not happen to me!) and if they are unable to resolve my complaint within 4 weeks they will contact me again to explain why they have been unable to achieve this. They then go on to say it could take up to 8 weeks) My questions is - do I now just sent the next letter out or wait until I have heard from them further? Can anyone help:???:
  14. Hi Jellybabe I know I may sound dense but is it right I can only claim for Admin charges and not the service charge? Also when I look at the spreadsheet, it calculates the interest at 8%, it this what I send? I don't know whether to claim interest or not, it is so confusing:confused:
  15. Hi Jellybabe, Thanks for that. I have checked on an old Statement also and I have been paying 39.8% - do you know how I work out the interest. Any help would be most greatly appreciated.
  16. PS - Donation on the way when I receive the funds. Thanks CAG!!
  17. This website is fab!! I received an offer for the full amount this morning! I am gobsmacked that they have caved in so quickly. I was expecting them to put up a bit of a fight. I had made a mistake though when I sent the letter to them - I claimed for interest at 8% which now know I shouldn't have done. I also claimed an extra £37.50 which was infact refunded in December 2004 - they have therefore taken this into account and offered me the amount of £410.00 - I DID CLAIM £437.50. I am really really pleased!! I have to sign and return the acceptance form within 10 days and money will be credited to my account. The bank say that for commercial reasons alone and without any admission of liability whatsoever they are prepared to make the payment to me as they think they would successfully resist any legal challenge in relation to these fees (the fees were overdraft fees of £30.00& returned DD fees and overlimit fees) but are mindful of management time and irrecoverable legal costs they may incur in relation to such a claim!! :) So to everyone who is still reclaiming THEIR money back - stick with it!!
  18. Hi Thanks for the information. I did pay the rate of 39.8%. How do I work out the interest? Can anyone help me?
  19. Hi Have just come across your thread - have your heard anything from London Mortgage Company Yet? I ask because I sent them a preliminary letter asking for payment of my ERC, They have until Monday 2nd October to reply before I fire off my LBA. :)
  20. Hi xoxnitaxox The admin charge ranges from £10.00 to the highest at £20.00. Some of the service charges are high too, the highest being £20.16. Can you tell me how I work out what is the interest on the charge? Thanks
  21. Hi Just received my statements from ACE this morning. I have noticed nearly each month they have added Admin charges - of £10.00 and service charges Can I claim for both these?
  22. Hi Wondered what charges you had asked back? I have just got my statements back - I have administration charges and also service charges. Can you help? Also did they send you vouchers or credit your account?
  23. Hi everyone, Husband telephoned Barclaycard this evening, money has been transferred into our bank account - We are accepting the amount on a partial settlement basis - we are still going to press ahead for the remainder of the charges owed. Will let you know how we get on - letter is going off tomorrow - registered post!!
  24. Hi Yeslek# Yes, We will make it clear that we will acept the sum as partial payment only and will seek to recover the remainder. As the letter says the adjustment will be confirmed in his October statement, I will wait until i see the money in the account first and then send the letter off.
  25. Thanks for the advice They say in the eletter that they are prepared to credit his account with the payment as a goodwill gesture, he will see the adjustment in his october statement - I thought as the account was clear he didn't have a card for this account - he does! We will check the money is in the account first, then send the letter off stating we will accept it as partial payment but are going to press ahead for full refund of all charges. Wish me luck:)
