  2. I've had similar problems... Moved from prepayment meters (Scottish Power & British gas) approx 12 months ago via Uswitch to Powergen. Set up Standing Order with Powergen. Asked for new meters-not pay as you go. Told I would have to be a customer for 3 months minimum. Meanwhile continue with pre-payment. This I do. At the same time they are taking £50 pcm from standing Order! They then bill me for nearly £1,000 and threaten me with court action when I have paid twice over already for the same service. Zillions of phone calls and letters later they refund me £250, replace meters but the
  3. I have had long drawn out correspondence with Virgin Media since Sept 2006 when the then NTL cocked up its Broadband and TV services. After complaining I was offered a special deal of £25.25 for TV, Internet and Telephone package. Great you may think but in spite of receiving this offer in writing it was never implemented and they haven't managed to get a bill right since. I have now cancelled the contract. However they still reckon I owe them money! The following is a draft f a letter I am about to send. Any suggestions as to how it can be tweaked will be gratefully received. Chief

Thank you very much for your response letter dated 2 May, copy enclosed. Unfortunately this explanation does not go nearly far enough to address the very serious issues raised. As stated the actions of Athena ANPR, your agents, have caused me considerable harassment, alarm and distress. They may also have committed offences

  8. Dear Sir/madam, Regarding my vehicle: Silver Renault Scenic Vehicle Registration Mark-XXXXXXX I am the Keeper of a silver Renault Scenic XXXXXX. The vehicle is registered at the above address. I am extremely concerned by recent events. In early March 2007 I received notification of a parking charge in respect of an alleged parking contravention on private land in Croydon on 20/2/07. I understand the land in question is jointly owned by Lidl and Fitness First. I have been contacted by a company called Athena ANPR Ltd of PO Box 420, Hounslow, TW3 9EL who claim to be pursuing costs in re
  9. Direct Debit with Virgin Media I would be grateful for assistance. I have had ongoing problems with NTL/Virgin Media re supply of mutifarious products (TV/Broadband/Phone). They are constantly getting my billing wrong and I wrote to them, well in advance of my next Direct debit due date (23rd of month) specifying that under no circumstances should they present a DD on the next due date until the amount to be drawn had been agreed bewteen both parties. I have written, telephoned and e-mailed and still they cock it up. As has been pointed out earlier in the thread-if you do not pa
  10. By the way- if you go to http://www.direct.gov.uk/MotoringIOwning it comes up with an error page so you can't obtain details of how to complain!!!!!!! DOn't you just love "Open Goverment?" "Gushing Incompetence" more like!
  11. Release of Information By DVLA You may recall I queried a demand for monies as a result of my vehicle being seen in the Lidl Car Park at Croydon. The parking there is 'managed' by ANPR Athena. They subsequently obtained details from DVLA under Reg 27 of the Road Vehicles (Registration & Licensing) Regulations 2002. Unwarranted demands for monies ensued. These now appear to have been dropped. However, I had an interesting response from DVLA and an even more interesting phone call with a member of that Agency. A copy of the letter is shown below: ________________________________
  12. Re Athena ANPR Ltd PO Box 420 Hounslow TW3 9EL Nothing received from Athena. No acknowledgement as yet from DVLA.
