  1. Thanks very much for letting me know. They are just trying to rip me off for doing work on the vehicle without giving me a proper list of what has been done. He has had money paid cas in hand as he was supposed to be doing the work in between jobs. This has NOT happened the last time something was benig done it was "booked in" as a job without telling me then all of a sudden came up with the lottery number of £6,000 for work done. I know for a fact that some of the work was done previously and paid for direct to him. He has had over £2,000 in cash for doing the last jobs. HE is just an outright shark. The bill that he sent was for over £6,000 with VAT (when he always had cash in hand) and no mentiomn of any monies paid to him. BUT I do have a receipt for the £2,000 that I paid him.
  2. The first I knew was that I got a letter stating that someone had asked to register my vehicle in their name and had I sold it. I have contacted DVLA who asked me to check if my vehicle was still parked where it normally is and it is. Not sure what next step is. They are a right cowboy operation.
  3. Garage has sent a letter to register my vehicle for unpaid bill. This company agreed to do work for cash in hand, some monies paid have not been credited and he has now upped the bill and now included VAT. As far as I am concerned they are in breach of contract. Are they able to take over my vehicle? It is parked in a private yard, not on their premises. They stated at the beginning that if I let them do work when needed in between jobs then they would do it cheaper. This has NOT been the case and now expecting me to pay an inflated bill. I have receipts for one large payment but nothing for the others as he would not give me one. Where do I stand on this legally? AS they have been trading without VAT and now issued a bill for work where some of it was already paid for without a receipt by cash in hand.
