  4. kath, i recently recieved a similar letter offering me £100. i phoned the number letting them know i would not be accepting there offer but would be continuing my claim, they uped the offer on the phone to £300! it is certainly worth phoning them to see how you get on. Its quicker and if you still dont get the result you want then you can write the letter.
  5. i sent one letter to my local branch, but recieved no reply so i sent the same letter as an email via the website and within 3 weeks i recieved the letter saying they would offer me £100 so i called them and told them no. and they increased there offer to £292 which is apparently the charges i had paid in the last 6 months. (it was a very new account i had with them)
  6. Recieved a letter today offering me £100 pounds back of my £300 pound claim. I called the number provided to let them know i would be continuing my claim and therefore would not be requiring the money offered. The guy listened to what i had to said and then offered me £292. I accepted this offer as i was not prepared to quibble over the last £8. I know i possibly gave up to soon but the bank balance will be happy!
  7. Got another address, Mr A. Carter Senior Customer Relations Manager Halfax Plc Customer Relations PO Box 548 Leeds LS1 1WU
  8. or try Antony Carter Customer Relations PO Box 548 Leeds LS1 1WU
  9. your best sending two letters, as if you put both account claims on one letter you will go over the £750 small claims limit. So just act as if they are two completely different cases, which to some extent they are.
  10. I personally recieved no response by handing a letter in to my branch, but sent an email, using the contact us, part of the website and recieved a letter today saying that they were looking into my claim and would be in contact within 4 weeks. My advice is to cut out the branches and just go straight to emailing the bank.
  11. I have finally found out the adress that all BOS complaints are dealt by. SHockingly its a Halifax address but they apparently are the ones who deal with BOS issues. Halifax Plc Customer Relations PO Box 548 Leeds LS1 1WU Hope thats of some use to people.
  12. From my understanding, Bank of Scotland and Halifax are the same. I think Halifax took over Bank of Scotland (might be that BOS took over Halifax) but Royal Bank of Scotland is a different bank completely.
  13. Thank you very much, have just sent them an email. Let me know how you get on, it will be interesting to hear how easy/difficult they make things.
  14. Do they still have 40 days even though i said at the bottom of the letter: 'If you do not comply fully within 14 days then I shall begin a claim against you for the full amount plus interest plus my costs and without further notice.'
