Hi guys, after a successful claim against Halifax I've had a few things going on at home which have taken the wind out of my sails a bit...
Now back on the case *ahem*, I've got my statements from Capital One and have completed the spreadsheet. I know the interest doesn't get added on yet, but is this still calculated at the 8%, or is it different for Credit Cards?
Thanks in advance.
Brad

congratulations, don't do anything with moneyclaim yet
when the money is paid into your account either ring / email them with your claim number and let them know that you consider the matter closed.
-
Filed my claim online - I appear now to have been given the option of 'judgement by default' or 'judgement by admission'. Which one do I choose?!
nothing yet, that only comes into operation if they don't respond to the court action within the allocated time

*gulp*
good luck neil, keep us posted

hi guys...got the cash in my account today, so thanks again
I'll definitely make a donation, just wanna make sure they're not gonna cancel my overdraft or anything silly, so it'll probably be a week or so if that's ok???
Thanks again

Enjoy the money

stick to your guns, i got offered £1,250, filed at court the week after and got a letter confirming they'll pay the full amount £4,081...(inc interest and court fees) within 5 days of filing the claim.
Just waiting for it to hit the bank now
Happy birthday for tomorrow

not the financial ombudsman...definitely will be court
-
tend to agree with bluecloud, IF it reaches court stage then there really is no evidence that the letter was sent.
you don't necessarily need to send it recorded, but you can get a free certificate of posting from the post office when the item is sent which is good enough evidence for court.
-
have you sent the LBA? if so, when did it get sent?
-
I didn't sign the form at all, just sent them a letter informing them that I would only accept as part payment and reminding them that they xxx amount of days before court action
-
very straightforward...even for me
if you like, you can make a start on it and it saves your progress so that you can continue it. I started doing mine at work on Friday and Saturday all I had to do was tidy it up and pay for it. Might be worth doing, that way any questions you've got you can ask now, just in case they can't get answered straight away.
-
don't think it matters Lisa, I did mine last Saturday
As far as I'm aware, you can submit claims 24 hours a day
-
good luck aardvark

was expecting to go to court, but hoping that it wouldn't
-
i submitted my claim on saturday and had a letter yesterday telling me they'd pay in full within 5 working days, so wasn't long for me.
Good luck

sorry martin....being a bit dumb here...what stage do i put for having the money returned? I'm assuming stage 1 is the prelim, stage 2 is LBA and stage 3 is court?
Thanks
-
will do cheers Martin
and thanks again
-
cheers neil, does seem odd about the interest.
once i get my money i'll start on the credit cards...got the taste for blood now
mwah hahaha

well...would you believe it? I got in last night to a letter from the bank agreeing to pay the whole amount including interest & costs within 5 working days.
I can't believe it, I'm usually quite unlucky so was fully expecting them to drag it out as long as possible. Thanks to everyone that's helped me, especially Martin & Mechs and obviously Bankfodder & Dave for setting this site up. Without all your assistance there's no way I'd have got this far. I'll stop now, it's starting to sound like an oscar acceptance speech.
For anyone just starting out, follow the step by step guide and you'll get your money back.
Power to the people

*gulp* now showing as acknowledged
hopefully *fingers crossed* not long to go now

Hi Jade I don't know the answer, but I'll tag onto your thread if that's ok as I'm trying to find this out myself.
