As I've been doing this for a friend, I've not been in as much control as I'd like to be, and with Christmas coming up she wasn't keen to jump in quickly and spend money on going to court, so we waited the 4 weeks . Then she got another letter, postponing it a bit longer. On top of that, I've been pretty confident that she would probably consider any offer a bonus, and would take it, no matter whether I thought she should carry on or not. However, to my complete surprise, last week she received a letter from the BoS refunding the FULL amount - £306. Result! :) Thanks everyone - now I'll need to look for someone else to assist! cheers Sweven

Hi All Today I'm starting off the procedure to reclaim £306 of charges made in the last 3 years by Bank of Scotland against a friend of mine. I'll be sorting out all the paperwork for her ('cos it looks like fun) although of course everything will be in her name and use her address. I've read through lots of posts in the Scottish and HBOS forums, and have also read the information on the Govan Law Centre's website. I have a couple of questions I'd like answered so that I can reassure her about the process. 1: Given past record, are HBOS likely to shut down her account? 2: She currently has an agreed overdraft on the account, although if she succeeds in getting the charges back this will almost be cleared. The review date for this is in Feb 2007. Might the bank decide to stop this early thus causing her some problems? Thanks in advance Sweven

This is my first post on the site, but I've been reading through dozens of pages. Each thread holds my attention like a crime novel, full of suspense - I can't wait to see how each is resolved. I absolutely love stories about an individual fighting against a big corporation. I'd like to add my congratulations Nona - I hope you throw yourself a bloody good party! And good luck to GeordieBaz! I've scanned my bank statements, but can't find any charges dammit! However, I've persuaded a mate to let me help her out, so may be posting here in the future.
