  1. Well I won!!! Can't say too much because I got the usual stuff about confidentiality but I did it!! I'm over the moon and will be donating when I recieve my cheque!! Thanks everyone for your fantastic help.
  2. Thanks for your reply Kazzy. Glad to hear this is standard procedure, I've been worrying I'll actually have to go to court. I think I'll send them a letter to hurry them up if I've heard nothing by Thursday.
  3. I sent both of my letters to David Lewis and didn't hear anything until 2 days after I'd filed my MCOL, obviously by then it was too late. Bad luck HSBC! Just waiting to hear from the Solicitors now. Fingers crossed.
  4. Read through the step by step instructions post at the top of the page. This will tell you what you can and can't claim and it's got all of the template letters for you to send. Good Luck.
  5. Well apart from the letter from the court stating they've acknowledged the claim I've heard nothing. I've had no contact from the Solictors at all so I'm not really sure where I stand. Does the 28 day rule apply to me if I've heard nothing from them?
  6. I received notification today that they plan to defend. Great I was hoping they would just offer me the money straight away.
  7. Well I've just filed my MCOL. Fingers crossed I should hear something very soon!
  8. I'm absolutely furious. I've just had a call from someone at HSBC. He was calling to tell me that I need to keep a close eye on going over my overdraft (which is a measly £100!) and if I continue to do it the bank may take away my overdraft all together! He asked if there was anything he could do to help I told him that I had asked for it to be increased by just £50 previously and that it was refused and he told me this is because I have a loan with them. So basically he was ringing to try and scare me. He then mentioned the fact that I have bank charges and I need to be careful of them! I wanted to tell him what I thought of his stupid charges and the fact that I had made a claim but I'm sitting in a very quiet open plan office so I decided against it. (Don't want the world and it's wife knowing about my finances!)
  9. Hi Carolinee, I didn't end up sending it that day in the end, I sent it about a week later. Plus I know it sounds stupid but I don't get paid until Friday so I can't afford to pay the court fees just yet.
  10. Thanks for your reply. I've just realised I was putting the date in, in the wrong format. Thats why it wasn't working it out properly.
  11. I am completely lost! I am filling out the moneyclaim online but I have a feeling I am not working out the interest correctly. The spreadsheet is not working it out for me, it just says value on it. So I tried to work it out by hand but I think I may be doing myself out of money. Is the 8% just a standard 8% of the value or does the date of the charge affect the amount?? i.e I was calculating the interest for £100 charges in Oct 05 as just £8. Is this right? Sorry for asking dumb questions. I've looked everwhere on here and can't find an answer.
  12. I'm just trying to file my claim at the moment. I've heard absolutely nothing from them either.
  13. Just getting ready to file my claim online! How exciting! I've prepared it and I need to actually send it on Friday morning. Bit premature I know but I wanted to be sure I knew what I was doing!
