  1. ill claim ignorance over it. they need to explain to me what the refunds are for surely? im away for 2 weeks so ill resume it all then. im just glad they at least did something
  2. update!! sent the 1st letter and without explanation £250 has been refunded to my account. will obviously decline and push for it all. not sure what i should do now any suggestions?
  3. elizabeth gilmore doesnt exist, the data protection department doesnt exist, i got the exact same standard replys. you try ringing the dublin number and asking for the above...no one has heard of either!!! what i did was made a complaint to dublin that i wanted passed onto my local branch, i then called local numpty manager and explained what i was doing. he fairly perked up when i mention head office in dublin. anyway i explained that i was reporting them to the information commisioners office(http://www.ico.gov.uk) lo and behold a courier sent the documents within 3 days. went through it all and started a claim for £1600. that was 2 weeks ago. today £250 has magically appeared in my account. keep hassling them and gl:)
  4. having got the back issue statements ...yes they made me trawl through them:( i finally started a claim for £1600. i sent the 1st letter about 2 weeks ago and today there has been £250 refunded to my account. at least something has happened, although no reason for the credit, one of the call centre girls said it was a refund for charges . i will decline the offer and pursue the claim in full. anyone know what i should do about the money they deposited? im off on holiday tomorrow , it would come in handy;)
  5. hello stevie70. i am trawling through the old statements and have got to £1400 at about 1/4 of the way so will be in a similar position to yourself. perhaps because the claim is larger than £5000 it make a difference. make sure and go through all the procedures as they are laid out on this site as that also will make a difference. ill keep you informed of what happens when i submit the letter to them
  6. hi, starting the process of claiming charges back from the ulster bank. any help or advice appreciated:) i will update progress and advice if i find stuff that may be of use. to date i have just recieved the six years of statements. going to take days to sort through it all:( ulster bank took over 40 days to send this so i have lodged a complaint with the data people. gl all
  7. cheers:) it is going to take days to sort through these statements:( im sure the bank has some sort of computerised system they could have summarised my charges!!!!! ah well if i get the money they owe me back it will be worth it
  8. hello, after looking inot this over the past few months i have decided to go ahead and start a process against my own bank, the ulster ban, part of the rbos. to date i have asked for my charges from the past 6 years. i had hoped that they would send a couple of sheets summarising this but alas i have just recieved about 10 trees worth of paper delivered by motorcycle courier:( so over the next few days i will trawl through all my accounts and highlight all my charges and then start my claim against the bank. i will let you know how i get on. as always being new to this i have a question(1st of many no doubt) some of the charges i have got over the years the bank have already refunded , they show on the statement as "refund fee". i presume i have to exclude these charges or can i include them? gl all:)
