  3. A few weeks ago they did the same to me. I have about £9k on two cards and told them I could no longer afford the montly payments and offered them £5 per month; so 3-months later they just took the monthly payments anyway. I sent them a very 'tart' letter, they not only appologised, told me it would not happen again but gave me compensation.
  4. Aitch You are not allowed to panic or get confused on this site To make you feel at ease pop down to your local court and pick-up your N1's (you will need 3 - but hey pick up a few more just in case you make a typo). Talk to the court office peeps - they are very helpful and will guide you through the fees. Next print off the Step-by-Step Guide here or from Wiki on here, get a mug of coco have a read in bed. You can then tick off the things you have done as you go through it. If you then need help just SHOUT on here and you will get all the help you need. Best of luck
  5. banklover_not What have you actually been asked to send to the court - i.e. please explain have you been asked to send the court bundle and in particular have you sent the bank and the court a schedule of the charges ???
  6. Hi Just go the the FAQ's and Step by Step Guide on here and everything you need will guide you through the process. What Abbey are saying is the standard stuff all the banks say Best of luck though
  7. Aitch - Hi, Although not an expert I may be able to throw some light - so here goes 1. Yes carry on as normal is the advice here and you will be near the top of the pile when this nonsense is over 2. ?? 3. Send a new LBA off to them with the revised amount 4. Interest & CI are complicated issues and unless you REALLY know what you are doing this is nest left alone 5. Not sure but the list of court fees are on here and on Wiki on here 6. As long as you have copies that will be fine 7. Two separate fees are needed as these are separate claims Hope that helps and the best luck
  8. Paul - Hi I have spent FAR T-O-O much time on here - I need to go to the pub - but I am sure there is a SS on here that does this 4U - try Wiki; or else go to the court and explain - remember the courts are there for YOU not the banks; buy time. And in any case case there are Degree courses out there on Interest Charges alone - this is a VERY tricky path to follow when dealing with interest charges - believe me And the very best of luck - BUY TIME from the court; explain to them the tricky calculations etc (they will not have a clue either BUY TIME and then you can sort it out
  9. midnat - Hi, You have posted this to the Bank Forum - have a look around for the thread that fits this Q
  10. Well - well How to make money A few months ago Nick Farrie (spelling - sorry) one of the top presenters on LBC 97.3 radio program announced on his prog that he went into his bank at 3.30pm to pay in a cheque and he noticed that the stamp was + 1day on the date stamp. He then wrote in a letter on complaint and received a reply noting that the letter date was -1 day from the date stamp So he went into the branch and demanded to see the manager (amazed that he did not not need a ticket to India) he spoke to the manager; not much luck here he was told that the banking day was from day x to 1330 the following day - hmmm interesting !!! A few years ago (I bank with LTSB) all business cheques banked say today could be drawn upon the following day - this has now changed and although the banking code says 3 working days - hey guess what look at maybe 5 days; and I have even heard on here up to TEN days. And we are powerless - I DO NOT think so
  11. Paul - I 'thought' I saw the spreadsheet on here that does this 4U
  12. Michael - Hi, There are two threads here namely:- http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general/68191-claiming-business-account-lets.html And http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general/73488-limited-company-claims.html The main thing to remember is that you CANNOT rely on consumer law and that limited companies cannot rely on the Sales of Goods Act. It is worth reading both threads fully - OK both a tad long now but well worth the effort Best of luck with your claim
  13. PriorityOne I 'think' IMHO that you have this on the wrong forum - this is the bank thingy. Not been through the others but I know there is a General Debt forum and maybe one specific to endowments
  14. Debarah - You are going to need to burn the midnight oil I am afraid - go back to The Step by Step guide and read up. Also you may find some easier to follow instructions on Wiki here. It is difficult to advise at this late stage as we do not know what the court has asked you to provide and what you have already sent to them Lets all hope 4U that and out of court settlement will take place tomorrow Best of British luck to you
  15. I am surprised that no one has answered your Q - hope this BUMP is not too late
  16. Someone here has worked out that the increase is 140%
  17. BUMP BUMP BUMP Come one someone - help this guy PS Just going through the posts and this guy has not received a reply - most unlike you guys I know nothing about the Scottish stuff :o
  18. Hey Ho - there they go again This is YOUR money girl - go ahead with your claim. OK I know it's a big hassle but why let them keep your money
  19. Someone on here worked out that the new T&C's increase the charges by 140%
  20. Zimmie - go and visit Wiki on here I think you will find they work
  21. BUMP BUMP BUMP Michael I am REALLY surprised no one has replied to this. From advice on here it seem that you are claiming CI - the advice here is not to proceed with this unless you really know what you are doing. There are two threads on here that deal specifically with business claims one for Limited and the other for the others they are http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general/68191-claiming-business-account-lets.html http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general/73488-limited-company-claims.html Also there is a thread here for CI but I do not have this. For claiming back over six years please see this thread http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general/110755-claiming-more-than-six.html I hope this helps a little Best of luck with your claim PS If it were me I would accept their full offer
