Got a letter from DG yesterday morning - HSBC have decided to settle in full (including interest). £932. (I was due in court on the 22nd) My advice - keep in touch with the solicitors and they should settle - In fact I spoke to the Court Clerk at the London Mercantile Court and he advised the same! Good luck to eveyone out there - I will be donating to CAG asap - Thanks for all your help! :)

I have posted this on another thread, but it might be better to put something here too. I have a date set for the London Mercantile court on the 22nd. I haven't been asked to submit any papers - is this usual? Should I prepare anything just in case? I have sent a few nudging letters to DG but no response as of yet. Has anyone else been confirmed for the above date? Would like to hear what other folks are doing. Thanks MM

Case transferred to the London Mercantile Court - Hearing 18 June 07

Thanks Lattie. I have sent a nudging letter to see if they will settle out of court. Would much rather avoid the hassle, but want to see this thing out to the end. Would you recommend that I get stuff ready to go to court yet, or wait a few days? As this is going to the Mercantile Court, will the package need to be different? MM -
Received a letter from the Royal Courts of Justice this morning stating that my case is going to heard at the London Mercantile Court on the 18th June. Quote from the Letter: There will be a small claims hearing in this case and in serveral others which raise the same or similar issues ... The hearing is intended to give directions for the hearing of some or all of these cases in a way which saves time and expense. Am I right in thinking that the Courts are trying to force the bank's hand? I would also appreciate some help on what needs to go in the bundle, if I do get

As helpful as ever Lateralus. Should I send a nudging letter to DG, even though the case is going to be referred to the Mercantile Court? -

Thanks. My main query concerns what will I need to do. If I get to the hearing - what will I need to bring (aside from the bundle)? Does this mean that the claim will be resolved more quickly? -
Help! I am in the final stages of the claim process. Apparently the local County Court has made an order of its own initiative without a hearing. My claim is now being transferred to the Mercantile Court. What does this mean? Thanks MM

Thanks very much Laterlaus. So just to get this right. Send a copy of the AQ, plus additional information (taken from post #2) and the Draft order for Directions (taken from post #3) to the County Court. Then send copies of the above, plus a full breakdown of charges to DG Solicitors. The aim of this is to speed up the process and add more 'weight' to the claim - forcing them to settle or not file send in their copy of the AQ. Thanks M_ M 8)
