  1. bookworn, do you have contact details for first national, i have had a car loan from them, first national motor, and a loan first national bank (GE), and a suite i paid up, first national tricity finance, and help with these addresses, would be grand.
  2. you claim the difference, between the royalties charge and the maintenance charge they took, the difference is probably for going over your agreed overdraft limit, which you can claim back, so if for example, maintenance charge was £30, royalties is included in this, say it was £12, you claim £18, i just put overdraft charge on my spreadsheet and the £18, i had loads of these, as was mostly over each month. hope this helps, anymore questions, p.m. me, happy to help, due to receiving full settlement last month.
  3. hi again, any info on first national, are they easy or difficult to deal with?
  4. hi everyone, had success with rbs, so first national next, has anyone got any relevant advice on first national, did you just deal with them, the same as any bank?
  5. hi bookworm, do you just follow the same procedure, with first national, as you would any other bank? rbs just settled me up for £2750, pre lba stage.
  6. Take the offer, and keep your account in check, otherwise you will get tied in with the others and there court wrangles.
  7. me again alison, yes i got the full amount, without much hassle. kevin
  8. Hi Alison, if you personal message me with your e-mail address, i can send you the e-mail i sent to Tommy, you can e-mail him, and send your lba away, as they have replied to you. if you need anymore help, just get in touch, just p.m. me
  9. I would advise all of you in this position, to e-mail Tommy personally, as i told alison check out the letter in andrew1 thread, she seems to have done this, i e-mailed this to Tommy, recieved offer of £1500, thank him for the offer, and told him i would accept as interim payment, however i would persue the rest through the courts, re-iterated that it would be easier to settle before court action, as it would not make business sense and financial sense for this to go to court, for them. i will happily, e-mail the letters i sent, if you p.m. me, with your e-mail addresses. kevin
  10. lynzilou, have a look at my thread, and if you need copies of the letters, i can send them to you.
  11. I e-mailed tommy personally, stating some hard facts, about, the extra interest, lawyers fee's and wasted resources, and how i would rather settle before going down the court route, but the most important thing, my e-mails stated facts and were pleasant.
  12. hi all, recieved letter offering full settlement, yee-haa
  13. let me know when you get a reply, from your pre-lim, it will probably be from tommy mclean, then we'll take it from there.
  14. Hi Alison received letter offering me full settlement, hopefully i can get you the same.
  15. drummyb, e-mail tommy thanking him for the offer, but no thanks, you require full settlement, and would rather this than go down the route of court proceedings, also re-iterate, the interest costs, not including their legal representation costs, and the resources wasted if this is not settled amicably, it workrd for me.
  16. check out the thread, by andrew1, there is a letter i used from his thread, when i got the sod off letter from tommy mclean, e-mailed this to him, slightly adjusted it, to suit my circumstances, received an offer, within a week, still sent my lba off, accepted offer, by e-mail, saying i would still be persuing the balance, and my lba, had already been sent, received an e-mail, saying letter was being sent it, hoping it's for full settlement, can e-mail the letter to you if you wish, just send me your e-mail addy. on my thread.
  17. Hi Alison, kevin again, don't send any letters, till you have, received something back from rbs, you can maybe follow the route i took, just keep me in the loop with whats happening. ps. I sent my letters, to my local branch, all recorded delivery, kept the receipts, and could trace, when they received them, then i got the fob off letter, from a tommy mclean, thats when i sent a couple of e-mails to him, and i'll send them to you, when the time comes. chin up
  18. Hi Alison, hopefully waiting on a full settlement, coming through the post, and my lba, is only 7 days in, already been offered more than half, of what i'm claiming for. Have a look at a thread by andrew1, you can search for it. there is a couple of interesting letters on there, and keep me posted of your progress, maybe i can help you through this without the need for court. kevin.
  19. nobody is disputing that the banks are a business, and have to make money, but it is downright greed and bad management, that have got the banks, into the trouble they are having to deal with at the moment. it doesn't matter who is in the wrong, it's the greed that's hard to stomach, and they have had more than enough time to alter their charges, but wait and milk it for all it was worth. I sincerely hope the words spreads, and they reap what they sow.
  20. Hi all, received a letter from, Tommy Mclean today offering me, £1500 in full and final settlement, my claim is for £2714, any advice on my next move. only sent my lba away last week.
  21. It's just a normal account, was yours a credit card account? Any way lba sent and also an e-mail, of your your letter sent to tommy mclean, who confirmed today that he had recieved it, so hanging tight, to see there next move, would appreciate, a similar outcome to yours, stated on my e-mail, if it goes to court, it will cost them in the region of £800, interest and court fee's, thats not including cobbets fee, and the time for them dealing with it. If not satisfied, i will be calling him directly to ask them to re-think, so hopefully your advice, will work for me.
  22. good luck, hydra, just keep reading faq's and as many threads as you can, cut and paste, and relevant advice, to your claim, into a word document, that you can refer to, and try to have your next step ready in advance, then they know your serious, if you stay on the timetable. also try to follow the people at the same stage as you, i find this useful.
  23. thanks andrew, but don't think i can change it now anyway, having already sent my lba away, but think it will be useful to use your letters, had the usual response from pre-lim, from a certain tommy mclean, seems to be dealing with a right good few claims at the moment, so going to e-mail a version of your letter, minus the contractual interest, don't think it applies to me anyway, as my account is just a royalties.
