Hi Slick any ideas
-
Dont know
-
I was hoping to sort this with just a reply. I am sure if I had agreed to have additions back on my account, I am sure it would have been at the same time as requesting further overdraft or loan etc
-
They said the Additions was downgraded in error to a free fee account and I requested it to be changed back to additions but I was not aware of this.
-
Hi Slick would something like this do I originally took out the Additions account so I could have an overdraft. The Additions account was the only one offered. Whenever I requested a further overdraft I was advised to take the Additions option that provided an overdraft. When my overdraft got to a certain level I was advised to take a consolidation loan but if I kept the Additions account I could keep my overdraft limit. Additions plus was taken for the same reasons too, I was not told of any other options that would help me retain my overdraft Chris
-
In brief I asked for them to look into my Addition charges as when I started with Barclays I was told I could only get an overdraft if I had an Additions account and I wasn't told that there was any other account I could have
-
So would I tell them on the phone as I explained above? or should I word it differently
-
Thank you but just don't know how to word my reply

Hi There. This got sorted but cant remember how or what now but it never went to court and they paid me out. No one replied so I thought it was something that no one had heard of. My new post is regarding the additions account. Thanks Chris

I have received the following response to my complaint regarding Barclays Additions Account You have held Additions on two separate occasions and Additions Plus. Please provide your recollection of each point of sale. I can see your account was downgraded in error from Additions to a fee free account with an overdraft. Please confirm why you requested the account be upgraded to Additions again. Please confirm why you took the Additions plus Please advise why you retained the upgrades. I originally took out the Additions account so I could have an overdraft. I knew I would always have an overdraft with Barclays and this was the only account I could have. Each time I would ring them to request more overdraft or they would suggest that I take out a loan to pay off my overdraft. I would always do as they said so I could to keep my overdraft. If they had told me that additions had been taken off in error during one of these phone calls I would probably agreed for it to be put back on. The same goes for upgrading to Additions plus (I am being so honest with you that when I am reading it back I realise how desperate I was then) They have given me 7 days to reply. Really I could do with help as to how I reply to their letter Thank you Chris

Hello everyone I phoned Barclaycard re an old egg card I had with PPI. They had me complete a questionnaire. I since have received a letter saying they have no evidence of the policy being mis-sold. Can anyone help me answer this letter. below is the answers I gave to some of the questions If you were employed at the time you took out the insurance - would you have received any pay from your employer, if you were off work due to an accident or sickness, or if you were made redundant? Pay Receive : Yes For how many months would you have received this pay? 6 months or more, but less than 12 months Please give details I was with xxxxx for 15 Years. I'm not sure when the card was taken out. xxxx used to pay full pay for 6 months then half pay Why you decided to take out this insurance ? I took this ppi out when I filled in the online application form. I believe it came with the card. About Your Complaint As I was in full time employment and would have got sick pay if I was long term sick. I don't think I needed to have this insurance I have just received from Barclaycard saying they have not evidence I was missold PPI Following my investigation I have identified that your application was submitted online. This means that at this point of applying for PPI we did not give you any advice. You made your own decision as to whether you required the policy and could have benefited from this. This policy started on 18 January 2001 and ended on 10 December 2007. I have established that you were eligible for the policy at the time of this sale because you were: • Over 18 and under 65 on the date the policy was purchased. You gave your date of birth as 21/4/54 • A UK resident on the date the policy was purchased. You gave your address as (my address then given) • In employment working at xxxx They then say that if I am not satisfied I can contact them again ……. Hope someone can help or tell me if I should give up Thanks Chris
