  1. Hi Looking for advice on my tenancy. My house comes as part of my job, however I have no tenenacy agreement. Where do I stand if I lose my job or resign? What responsibility does the local authority have to find me a new home? Thanks
  2. Thanks MrShed, I thought that was the case, just wanted to make sure.
  3. He's not owed any rent, and he still has our deposit, which I doubt he will return. He just wanted some money to tide him over, those were his exact words. As for the harrassment, we've moved in above the corner shop 2 doors down from the flat we rented from him, and he's been coming into the shop when I'm working demanding to speak to me, I've explained politely that I'm busy working and he'll have to wait, he doesn't take no for an answer.
  4. Our tenancy agreement expired on 31.7.08 and we left the property on that date. Our boiler had not been serviced when due (feb 08) and we had black soot up the walls from it, we laso has no clear fire escape and the wooden window frames were close to falling out, so you can see our reasons for leaving, especially as we have a 9 year old to consider. Since leaving my ex landlord has harrassed me at work, and has asked for money to 'tide him over', I'm trying to be nice through all of this but I am finding it increasingly difficult to be reasonable with such a bully. Where do we stand legally on this, have we done anything wrong?
  5. I have received a letter from a company called Excel who wish to send a 'counsellor' to my haome to discuss my borrowings with LTSB. I have a karge overdraft and a loan which I have missed payment on. I did ring LTSB a while back and ask them to consolidate my laon and OD and then close my account, I was refused. I first got into difficulty when my partner was injured at work and went sick, his pay went from over £300 per week to just £70. He was off for approx 6 months. I myself was unwell with depression for a few months. Are these counsellors bailiffs? The letter seems very nice, saying they are here to help me and I should view the visit as a positive experience. Any advice would be gratefully received.
  6. This is a great piece of advice from a stalwart campaigner for justice. See my earlier posts for the website address which is full of great advice.
  7. Thanks for that Closey. No response to my LBA??!! Is this normal? Have completed my moneyclaim online claim, but guess what ......can't afford to file it at the minute (£120) due to paying back bank charges! £4464.82 inc interest, hoping to file the claim in the next week or so.
  8. Will do Closey. I've been trawling through the forums and can't find what I'm looking for, can anyone help with the following...... My LTSB current account has an agreed overdraft of £2750 (maxxed out!!) and today they took another £350 in charges making me go over my agreed limit. This happens every month, but with rent, council tax and bills theres never enough money in to cover these charges and this is becoming a rather viscious cycle. If I closed or ceased using my account does anyone know what the consequences of this would be?? I know they would expect the OD to be paid back but at what rate/timescale??
  9. Cheers for that reload. Well no response to the Prelim so off I go LBA in hand to the post box!!
  10. My partners wages get paid into my account, its allowed as long as your partner signs a notification to his employer that this is his wish. After working in HR/Personnel for over 10 years I've never come accross someone being declined this!!

  12. Well I got all my copy statements today, just finished inputting them onto the spreadsheet (thanks for this template) and discovered I've paid £3757.50 over 6 years!! Prelim letter sent. 14 days and counting!!!!!!!
  13. tax credit overpayment Please check this site out it offers laods of good ideas and valuable info. Byt the way please please please sign the online petition via the link. It amazes me that the TC office expect us to know how they work out our payments and yet they cannot get them right themselves!!!!!
  14. I've just had an awful thought...... I know I have incurred charges this month and normally I would have had a nice little letter from LTSB to tell me when the were going to take them out and make me overdrawn....again. However, it has just dawned on me that no letter has come, what are they up to????????? Maybe it's a new policy, don't send letters, just take the charges out regardless!!
  15. Know just how you feel but the time has to come to say to them enough is enough, I'm sick to death of the monthly charges that land me further in debt and I'll be buggered if Lloyds are gonna make me bankrupt!! Good luck and keep us informed on your progress
