  1. cheers for that, in total over the years the monthly totals add up to£128.81, this might sound daft to ask, would it be with ge capitol as they sold me the insurance, or with the company that supplied the insurance to ge capitol, i feel i was missold the insurance, as their was no mention at the time i also had to sign on to be able to claim, this must also affect peoples rights, as a lot of people are to proud to sign on, and hope that a job comes along soon, i dont remember this in their terms and conditions, and if it is, will i still have any luck?? cheers nightmare4banks
  2. i have had a account with ge money since 1996, and in 2004 i was paid off from my job, as i had insurance protection thought i would be ok, prior to this i went to sign on but could not as my redundancy took me over the saving i was allowed to have, anyway put a claim into the insurance to cover my payments till i found work again, but was rejected as i was not signing on, saying that this is one of their terms and conditions, as a result i have recieved several charges from ge money, despite explaining to them my plight, and the insurance policy they sold me refusing to cover my payments and letters from my employer stating i was made redundant, could not care less and continued to charge me, plus extra on top of their interest and still took money off me for their insurance policy and then adding a default against me on my credit rating, i am sending them a letter regarding the charges and interest and the default, can anyone give advice on this, and any regarding the insarance taken out, can i get them to pay up or claim my money back of them for a policy that was no use as when it came to the crunch they just laughed in my face please help thanks. Also where their has been a return on a couple monthly d/d they have also added this on to the outstanding bill, surely this should remain the same as the month before, with the add on of interest and their charges, and not to also add this on, am i been stupid here??
  3. having looked at my credit reportand found that littlewoods have put a default against me on 12/10/02. before i closed this account with them, i had probs with them regarding an order sent back, proof was available for this, but it took then a year to correct my account, and at the same time kept adding on account cover, which i presume this is why they have added the default to my credit rating. account cover should not be added unless their is items outstanding and as it was the one item, that was showing, and i had already returned it to them, my arguement with them was its their fault for taking so long to correct my account, and therefore i should not have too pay account cover. I am about to write to them to have this removed, but not sure how to go about this, has anyone got any ideas thanks

  12. i am needing advice on how to go about on claiming my money back from a company called del prado, i was getting issues to build a model boat from them in 2003, when these issues stopped arriving i asked why and was informed that they were on back order and would be sent out once recieved, to cut a long story short, due to home problems i was not able to contact them again till last year, and was informed that they had taken the company over that was suppling them, and that they have mishandled my account and would not refund my money. trying to say that i cancelled my contract, which is not the case esp when i had only 14 issues from the end to go, and would not put myself out of pocket with over £300 pound, i have wrote to them and asked for it back, as most of the issues sent to me are unused and offered them back to them as they can no longer supply, where do i stand, and what can i do, any advice would be really appriciated thank you
  13. First let me say what a great site this is and all the information and support it offers to everyone, without this i would not have got very far without the advice from everyone. I have followed their advice so far up till the lba and have recieved a reply back from the bank, between my busness and own account with unpaid d/d chq charges, service charges, referral charges and overdrawn interest charges it comes to a total of £4387.16 this also includes me adding on a 8% interest, i have recieved a reply the usual sorry your not happy, nothing they can add constructively to past correspondence, wishing to resolve matters with me and against the background and as a goodwill gesture without admission of error or liability are offering me £2551 in full and settlement of my account. Anyone have any advice if i should just accept this or press on further for the full amount, as i am quite happy to go to court over it, many thanks for any advice
  14. have recieved a letter from the bank this morning, usual one sorry your not happy, but nothing they can add constructively to past correspondence, but wish to resolve matters with me, against the background and as a goodwill gesture without admission of error or liability they are offering the sum of £2551 in a full and final settlement of my complaint, the charges i have asked back is unpaid d/d, referral charges, service charges, and interest charges for both my business account and my own account which totals 4387.16. can i claim all these charges back, and what would be your advice do i accept their offer or press ahead, as i am more than happy to go to court, thanks again
  15. thank you for the advice well appreciated, will be sending them a letter to that effect, and see what happens thank you
  16. at the time i never wrote to them requesting that they remove the system, but did send a letter to them regarding the problems and that they were in breach of contract, i have now sent a couple of letters in to them stating they are in breach of their contract, outlining the problems and all the calls made to them, and have also sent one now to the director of sky, {awaiting for replies} as their customer service has replied and basically said tough, get in touch with their collections agency to arrange to pay this off, am still getting letters from collections ageny, one the other day stating i have 7 days from Hamptons legal threating legal action and a claim made against me with section 69 of the county courts act 1984 as well as having this registered against me
  17. I have wrote to del prado to ask for a full refund on the subscribtion i took with them, that they can no longer supply, leaving me with a project that cant be done and out of pocket for around 350 pound. They have informed me that they have mishandled my account, but no refund can be offered, and have informed me that they have taken the company over that was suppling them, and have asked me to write to their head office in spain. If their head office is in spain how does the law stand with that, when originally their office was in the uk and still have offices here, when i started the collection with them. Where can i go with this now, does the sale and supply act still cover my complaint with them? Any advice thank you
  18. i entered an agreement with sky television several years ago, when i moved to my new address, been a customer of theirs for many years, without any problems, they installed new equipment and from day one it would either freeze, no sound or no picture with the sound, and no programe could be watched, without something going wrong. They offered to call out to inspect the system, but i would be charged for this, after several frustrating calls and offers to refund charges i had enough and asked them to remove their system, at the time i was informed their was no balance outstanding, but they never removed the system. I am now been hounded for a bill of 102 pounds and am been threatened with court action and defaults set against my credit rating, and they have informed me i entered a contract with them so i am responsible for sums outstanding. anyone got any advice on how to handle this
  19. thank you for the advice, have asked for them will keep you posted on my progress
  20. Hi folks, have read several of the posts on here with great interest, and has pushed me to do something regarding the charges i have from the RBOS, i have already sent of a copy of the first letter to the bank on my business account they have charges me around £2690 odd pounds and on my personel account they have charged me around 770 pounds, exact sums i cannot remember right now, also they have closed my personel account and kept the money that was in it, which was not a lot anyway. i have recieved a reply back from them, most of the letters i have sent them regarding these accounts have been ignored until i came across this site. The letter firstly apologises for any dissatisfaction or upset caused. then goes on to suggest that i get back in touch with joyce kerr, asking me to get back in touch with her and saying they will liase with her to ensure the charges applied in the past are re investigated. turning to my personel account they are afraid they cannot now see the history of the account due to its closure. They now need me to go to my branch and order copies, advising their will be a charge for this, but will be refunded with any refunds agreed, asking me to give them time to look at these charges in a favourable light. Also does anyone know why it cost £125 pounds to arrange an overdraft on a business account and a £100 on a personal account, what is the difference, and can these charges be claimed back any help or advice to what i do from here is much appricated, do i ignore this letter and just continue on to sent them the letter before action to them
