  4. I have tried telephoning them but they will not answer their phone. Have decided to send a fax but not sure what to say.
  5. In September 2004 my husband forgot to pay the congestion charge. He totally in all honestly forgot all about it until we received notification in March 2005. We had moved house in that time and although we had post redirected we had not received any communication about it. He went to the local Court and swore a Statutory Declaration stating that he had never received any correspondence or forms, Penalty Charge Notice etc. We had an acknowledgement but never heard any more. Last week, nearly 2 years after the original offence he received a letter from CCS Enforcement Services Limited
  6. Okay it looks like I have to issue Court proceedings. I have looked at the spreadsheet to calculate interest but cannot work out how to use it. I am not really thick I just can't seem to get my head round it. Do I just type over the information that's already there? Also do I have to calculate the days elapsed? How do I then get it to calculate the interest? Sorry about this. Also my claim is for £1,500 can anyone tell me what the Court fee is likely to be? Thanks
  7. So do I change the wording on the acceptance form? I am worried I will accept the £450 and then not be entitled to claim the rest
  8. I received a letter from Halifax today offering £450 in full and final settlement. The letter states:- "I am sure you will appreciate that like other organisations we incur costs for every transaction made. When we pay an item against an unauthorised overdraft or return an item unpaid, we incur extra costs regardless of the shortfall involved. We believe it is fair to pass these costs on to the accounts affected, rather than absorb them into other areas of our operations, penalising all our other customers as a result. We clearly outline our charging policy in the terms and cond
  9. How did you word your letter?
  10. Hi, wonder if anyone can help? Basically, I used to have a Littlewoods catalogue. Had some money problems and have been paying this off. Trouble is because I have not been able to pay regularly, they keep adding admin fees. They say I owe £105 but I worked out that less the admin fees it was only £40. I wrote and asked if they would accept £40 in full and final settlement but today have had a reply which says:- "On checking I find the full and final settlement is £105.05. The administration is charged according to your terms and conditions of your account stipulated in the back
  11. I wrote the initial letter asking for statements and have received the following reply:- "Further to your recent enquiry, I regret to advise you that, having fully considered your request, we are unable to make a refund of the charges applied to your Bank Account". What do I do now?
  12. I closed my account with Halifax over a year ago and stupidly did not keep any statements etc. I wrote to them with my old address and today I have received a letter saying they cannot trace my file and need my roll number. They say without this they cannot do anything further. I do not have my roll number so what can I do now?
  13. Brilliant! Thanks for the quick replies. Shall get on to them straight away
  14. I closed my account with Halifax over a year ago as I was so sick of them. Can't remember now what my account number was. Can I still claim even though the account is closed? Also can I just write with my address and let them find out the old account number for me? Thanks for any help
