  1. Just checked my bills and see they've been charging me since January 2014 so went on live chat and they refunded me straight away - I didn't even have to threaten to leave or anything! Thanks for the heads-up - the money will really come in handy
  2. I rang them on Friday and the woman I spoke to said that as they are dealing with so many claims at the moment, they will be getting in touch with me around 2 weeks before the court date to settle. I asked if they are deffinately going to settle and she said yes, they are settling with every valid case they get...

  5. Not charges, interest - as in interest that they charge me each month for being overdrawn Jamie
  6. Thanks for the advice stadium! I wouldn't be suprised if we all hear from Barclays before we reach court stage anyway... On that subject, I received a phone call at home this morning from number 0845 3004275. I didn't get to the phone in time but when I tried ringing the number back I got a recorded message saying: "You were called today by your bank, we will call back some time in the next few days" Does anyone know if this could be Barclays? Or maybe it was someone trying to rip me off and steal my money... some might say that could be the same thing lol
  7. Thanks for the reply They wanted to offer me £160 as settlement - I'm going all the way with this! When you think about it though, I owe them the same amount of money that they owe me but if I started to refuse tto make payments I could get into big trouble with them (and I wouldn't put it past them to take all the action they could against me) Just seems unfair to me
  8. Hello I got a letter from Cardiff County Court yesterday saying that directions will be given in my case in Cardiff Civil Justice Centre on 26th March 2007 at 10:30 am by Judge G Hickinbottom. I was just wondering how many others had received the same time/date as me? J
  9. Just before Christmas I added up all the late payment and overlimit charges on my account and they come to £412.00 - Here's the amusing bit... the balance of my account with CapitalOne is £412.04. So, technically I only owe them 4p. I wrote a letter saying this and that I wanted all the charges refunded so I can close the account and I got a reply saying they were willing to refund the £8 difference (as they have done with everyone else by the sound of it). I replied saying this wasn't good enough and that I was going to commence legal proceedings. Got a letter from Robert Udy today saying the "goodwill offer" (haha) is their first and final one and that they are still offering it as settlement of my complaint. Should I go to MCOL now and file my claim or is this really their only offer? J
  10. Ooh, one thing I forgot to ask... Would I be able to add on interest that has been added to my account since I first filed the papers with the court?
  11. I was going to give them a call myself to see if they were prepared to settle but thought It'd be best if I waited a few days as I only received my letter yesterday - I'm planning on ringing them early next week, I'll let you all know how it goes J
  12. I received a letter this morning saying exactly the same thing too
  13. After a quiet few weeks I received 2 letters out of the blue today. One saying that my case has been transferred to Cardiff County Court and another saying my case will be heard in Cardiff Civil Justice Centre by a Judge Hickinbottom on 26th March 2007 @10:30am What does this mean? It says in the letter that I don't have to attend - will it have any negative effect if I don't attend? Has anybody else had one of these hearings? I'm starting to get a bit panicked now!!
  14. There's no way of getting them back - I looked into it. I'm deffinately going to keep copies from now on but just wish I'd make back ups!!
  15. Bugger bugger bugger! I just realised something!! All the letters that I sent to Barclays were saved on my PCs hard drive which decided to pack in a couple of weeks ago causing me to lose all my documents! Does anyone think this would cause a problem? I hope my case hasn't been affected as I now cannot supply copies of letters sent etc. Damn! Jamie
