I have been reading and following the forum on many different threads and thought I would share my experiences with RBS 12/09/06 Wrote requesting refund of charges and enclosed schedule to local branch sent by recorded delivery 27/09/06 LBA sent to local branch 13/10/06 Response from branch claiming to have no knowledge of my original letter and offering to investigate if I sent details 09/11/06 Sent original letter ,schedule of charges,follow up letter in which I expressed dissappointment at the poor response 21/11/06 Letter received today offering £1540 as full and final settlement !!!!!!!!!!!! The amount (before interest) that I was claiming was £2190. How easy is that and all dealt with at local branch

has anyone has success claiming back credit card charges??

MBNA paid me half of my claim and all I had sent was an sar!!!!!!!! I have accepted as part payment etc -
Well done. I am chasing £2900 so lets hope I have half the luck of you!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for support and I apologise for not making it clear I have sent preliminary letter (recorded delivery) with my breakdown of charges There was no reply to this and after 14 days I sent LBA recorded delivery and with breakdown of charges The reply from the bank arrived almost bang on 14 days from the receipt of this,claiming not to have received first letter and offering to investigate if I let them know which charges I am disputing

I requested my information (SAR) three weeks ago and received a letter saying that they would investigate my com[laint and respond before 18th October!!!!!!!!! On Friday (20th I received the usual ""we do not beleive that our charges are unfair-and gesture of goodwill payment of £270 which is about half the total charges. I have written today to say that i have acceted as part apyment etc but it goes to show a bit of pressure and these guys are buckling

HI I sent off my sar to my branch and at the eleventh hour got my statements. I wrote initial request for repayment which was unanswered and have since received a letter saying that their charges are legal etc. However they are saying that they haven't received my original letter or details of charges disputed and have asked for this information so that they can investigate. What should i do-ignore and raise small claims or resend my original Any adice greatly appreciated

Yeah I am interested in this too. It is a tad confusing. I think you can include total charges plus interest on column of spreadsheet. If there is no joy then you add the 8% judicial amount from date of claiming. Have I understood this right anybody please -

Statements arrived today!!!Have not cashed my cheque but have debited £5 for statements fee 27th July 2006-Data Protection Act letter sent (recorded delivery) to local branch with £10 cheque enclosed 28th August 2006- Statements Arrived
