  1. HOLY SH*********************T! Just had a letter back offering me lot as a full and final, same day I was going to send my LBA?!!! OK, they have charged me once since i sent my prelim...need to send my agreement on the condition they give me that back tooo!!!
  2. I would not advise this... you will HAVE to show evidence if it gets to small claims, you can not use estimates.
  3. Well, nothing, so today goes the LBA... cheeky sods charged me a card guarantee for a cheque that would have taken me .52p over my o/d limit.... add that one to the list then!!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Just keep going!!! CAhoot seem to be one of the most stubborn banks out there... and to tell you the truth I would be quite interested to see how their charges can equate the same as a bank with say BRANCHES or say, TELLERS???????
  5. sorry "underwritten" there's my northamericana creeping up on me again!
  6. It would be who it the credit was underwritten by... so most likely RBOS... Should wait for the statements.
  7. mmm i think it would be private... take a look at SHELTER ARLA also google tenants rights.
  8. sorry whats HMV? you mean the cd place?
  9. no just keep asking for the whole thing until the small claims stage
  10. MOST institutes and universities only allow you to pay uk fees if you have lived in the UK for 3 years or more... however the rules vary slightly. Double check the visa rules as welll...
  11. just tell them the account is in dispute.
  12. Sorry, just want to confirm, did you write just one letter giving them seven days to refund your charges?
  13. Yes I wouldnt worry too much, as long as its saying delivered!!!
  14. Congrats, assuming all your letters were sent attention Sandy Watt, customer relations?? (Just getting some info for my LBA, second claim)
  15. Citizens advice Bureau. They can advise in matters such as this. may be worth pm'ing mrshed.
  16. did you take the time and date and also the name of the person you handed it into.
  17. Its your decision, if you really need the interest then go for it but I guarantee it will not be a short road!!! Sorry I can not be encouraging but it seems that most of these interest cases end up at least at MCOL stage. At the end of the day its YOUR money. You need to go with your gut feeling. I would send a letter accepting as part settlement, or revise the LBA slightly to include that you will accept as part settlement.
  18. Always remember that paying off an o/d is JUST as satisfying as paying off a credit card!!!
  19. you can always withdraw it all asap after they bacs it!!! if they try to close it, take a look at the A & L thread regarding account closure.
  20. well, to tell you the truth... they are making amicable means to settle this claim.. I dont know how favourably a judge would look upon this case considering that basically the only reason it went to court was because you were demanding cheque payment. All of this correspondence will be put forth before a judge remember. They will show that they have tried to settle with you on at least 3 occasions for the claim amount?????? However that is only my opinion.
  21. naw, shes basically asking you to put in a lower offer than what you are claiming for and she will see what she can do. my other half settled with cahoot for only 75% of his claim, however the whole process only took about 3weeks!! they seem to act fast if you lower your claim. ie; cost them less in the long run.
  22. see my post regarding the CEO details for Centrica.... believe me, BG is in such a mess right now the only way to get anywhere with them is to write to the top. I wrote about 7 letters and 5 emails to house.co.uk but didnt get a response until I wrote to the CEO
  23. Dont worry, you have loads of support here and you WILL get your charges back!!!!
