  1. only their usual waffle stuff .... just hang in there, not long to go now
  2. why tell them about cccs ? it only gives DG more ammunition to use. and if cccs have divulged any information about you to DG then another claim agains cccs for breach of confidentiality is on the cards! just stick to your guns, hsbc will not let it go to court, and any settlement has to be mutually agreed. that means you call the shots on how you want it paid, not DG or hsbc. if you want a cheque the hold out for one, you will get it. hsbc might sulk a bit and close your account or call in your overdraft etc but they will comply with your request for a cheque.
  3. watching with interest i might have to take a leaf or two out of your book if this comes off go for it spicey

  9. No response to the D P A request so a bit of printing from the trusty online banking and got records back to 2000. a couple of hours with a highlighter and just over a thousand in charges.... so my prelim is going in tomorrow. just a quick question over some weird charges i found. one for travel facilities ? not seen that one before and dont remember what it could have been for ? and several that just say DR withdrawn and the an amount, weird it is a sum taken by the bank but with no explanation just withdrawn ??? anyone seen these charges before and can i claim them back? cheers Andy
  10. Hi I was not suggesting it was illegal or unlawfull, just a rip off ... bank transfers chaps bacs etc are very common in europe and are easy and cheap to do. try selling anything on ebay to a german and then try and explain to them that it is to expensive to do a bank transfer for the money! they will not believe how expensive it is to do here, they want to use bank transfer services rather than paypal as in germany it is the cheaper and far more common option. it is only here that they are such a rip off
  11. the question is does £20.00 accuratly reflect the actual cost to perfom the service plus a Reasonable profit, or is it a rip off? of course it is a rip off as the actual cost is less than a pound as shown earlier in this thread, so then making £19.00+ profit on it is a rip off. especially when others (comercial customers) are only charged £5.00 for the same service!
  12. Data protection letter handed in yesterday, first steps taken. and reading everyone elses threads i am looking forward to it. just a quick question though, i had a managed loan a couple of years ago after a redundancy caused my finances to get out of hand. that is all paid off now but i was wondering if the punative interest i was forced to pay on it could be deemed as unfair and i could therfore claim it back as such? or possibly even the loan itself as i was forced to take it, in a either you do this or we will close your account senario. any thoughts on this anyone? thanks to everyone for a wonderfull site and all the help on here. Andy
