  3. That's what I thought, but obviously not sure. You know what these people can be like, especially if one of them have to admit they are at fault.
  4. Hi everyone I am a returning CAG'r...I won my bank charges case against my bank about 2 years ago thanks to the help and support of this site. I now have another issue, but this time concerning my remortgage and the redemption figure that seams to be incorrect at the time of completion. Last week, I remortgaged my property FROM the Kensington to GE MONEY LTD. I had all the letters through to say that the remortgage was completed on 12th November, along with the solicitors receipt and breakdown of the monies. I also received a small sum of cash that I used to pay off my cre
  5. Eventually, I have received some sort of response and I could not believe what I have just discovered. I came home to 2 large a4 envelopes from Barclaycard, BOTH correctly addressed to me. The first one had my statements but only from 2004 because they do not hold statements past that date (just stalling in my eyes) BUT.......................... when I opened the second envelope and removed the covering letter, I found that I had SOMEONE ELSES statements. I had a complete list of statements for someone in Mid Glamorgan and it has everything on them. I have read a thread months ago
  6. As I got such a large amount that I never thought I would see again I have donated the same amount AGAIN to help this site and the cause. If anyone get's any money refunded I URGE YOU TO DONATE AT LEAST 5% of your claim to THIS SITE USING THE BUTTON ON THE TOP LEFT OF THIS PAGE. Without these people working so hard you would not be reading this post now. DONATE ............... Please. John-boy999
  7. Hey everyone - THE HALIFAX HAVE SETTLED IN FULL & I HAVE THE FULL £4558.01 TO THE PENNY !!!!!!!!!!! I never thought they would but it just goes to show how the power of the people have triumphed again. I received a letter today stating that it would cost them more to defend in court than they amount I am claiming so they have paid me - yeh right! By 3pm today the full amount was credited to my account. Thank you so much to the administrators, moderators and every single person that has followed this thread. Without you all I would be none the wiser. I have donated a g
  8. Yes, that looks fine to me. It's basically the same as the letter I sent which worked for me. Keep us informed.
  9. I did not state the interest in my LBA but i did say that if my claim was not concluded and went to court THEY WOULD have to pay interest @ 8% pa + court costs. It made no difference because I have taken them to court and now they have an extra £800 to pay. You are unable to charge the 8% pa interest until you file your court claim. I am unaware of the interest charge at Halifax's rate. Again it is upto you but read more threads about this interest before wrting it in your LBA letter to ensure it is correct. You don't want to lengthen your claim because it is incorrect. John
  10. Hi Yes, send the LBA to the address I sent mine to: Halifax PLC Customer Relations PO Box 548 LEEDS LS1 1WU I have alway received responses from this address well within any time frame. I suggest that you DO NOT call the manager or leave your phone number as they will try and settle for a very minimal amount. It is best to have a paper trail. If they phone tell them you would prefer letters and end the call politely. If you need any help at all, I will be only too happy to advise. I have gone through this motion and I am now waiting for my settlement. Hope
  11. Latest update................ Halifax have acknowledged my claim and intent to defend the whole amount being claimed. They have 28 days from 23rd May - which gives them until 29th June to file a defence claim. This is now getting to the final round and I am not sure how much longer I can take this mind game. I am just hoping that my claim was correct and I have not made a silly mistake in my wording that the Halifax will pick up on !!!!!!!! from a very worried John....... signing out.
  12. That i am unsure about! might be a good idea to phone the money claim line just to make sure.......... you don't want anything to go wrong now! John
  13. Well done Ash ........... thats the way to do. How much did you take them for out of interest? And don't forget to give a little to this site - without which none of us would be any the wiser. Regards John
  14. Hi all It has all moved that little step closer. The courts have acknowledged my claim and they have until 7th June to dispute (which then gives them an extra 28 days to either pay up or submit defence). 15 days and counting .................. I will keep you up to date. John
  15. Hi all After sending the court papers for my Halifax claim last week, I thought I would start on someone new .............. so I targeted Barclaycard as the banker in my next round of Deal or no Deal ! However, this is a bit more tricky than the Halifax as I have defaulted on my card and it has been passed to a collection agency. I have read the various threads about debt collection agencys and have sent a dpa to Barclaycard and a covering letter to the dca with £1. I hope this is the correct way, if not could someone be so kind as too show me the way on this one. All the
