  1. I'd appreciate it if someone could advise on the following issue with my reclaim for unfair charges against Barclaycard. After sending Barclaycard a letter before action in November 2009, they wrote to me on 9th December 2009 agreeing to refund charges of £400.76 but stating that they had notified the agency responsible for the account and the balance would be amended accordingly. I don't have an outstanding balance with Barclaycard as I settled the account with the debt recovery agency (HFO Services) in July 2007. I was expecting to receive a cheque from the agency but they haven'

Barclaycard then wrote to me on 9th December 2009 agreeing to refund charges of £400.76 but stating that they had notified the agency responsible for the account and the balance would be amended accordingly. I settled the debt in July 2007 so there is no outstanding balance. I was expecting to receive a cheque from the agency (HFO Services) but I haven't received anything and I've been unable to get through to them. I'm unsure about what action to ta
  3. I have a query about the calculation of interest for credit card charges. I am using the Complex Credit Card spreadsheet and I can see that the monthly interest is calculated as: Interest Charged x (Penalties Chargeable to Interest / Remaining Balance) I can understand the rest of the spreadsheet but I'm struggling to make sense of this formula. For the Interest Charged, am I supposed to use the APR or the monthly rate? Do I use the Cash Balance Rate or the Standard Balance Rate? Is there a section on the website which explains this calculation in more detail? I hope

  5. Vampiress, I send emailed you for this but you havent replied?
  6. Vampiress, did you manage to compile a spreadsheet for interest on credit cards?
  7. I'm wondering how everyone is treating interest on Credit Cards. I have the idea that we should be claiming the charges PLUS the interest they have charged us (i.e. their typical APR for each period) PLUS the standard 8%. Would anyone else agree with this?
  8. I'm still relatively new to this but from what I understand all penalties such as late fess, overlimit charges, fees for paying standing orders while overdrawn etc. are all unjustified.
  9. Just spoke to Barclaycard over the phone and they told me they charge £3 for every bank statement! There is no way I'm willing to pay that. Is there anyone else here who has experience of dealing with Barclaycad?
  10. Hi, just registered with the site today and read a couple of the sections incl. FAQ. Feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the information but quite excited by the prospect of finally getting one over all these banks that have made my life rather difficult these past couple of years. I'm now gonna begin the task of requesting all the information and calculating all the charges I've received from several banks and credit companies....
