  1. 'Tis done already my dear.... Just back from the post office! Given them 14 days to reconsider their postition from today then going for it!
  2. Well, rang them this morning - told them I was prepared to negotiate with them for a higher offer otherwise it would be going to court. They went away, came back and said "Nope - this was their only and final offer." Reminded them if it went to court I'd be claiming the full amount PLUS statutory interest PLUS court fee.....which amounts to just over £2400 - they still said "Nope!" so just advised them I'd take it to court then. Seems they've got money to throw away! Let battle commence......
  3. Started my claim for just under £2100 at the end of March when I sent the SAR letter off. I've today received a letter from The Woolwich offering me just under £1600. Thinking about calling them on Monday to see if I can't negotiate with them before I decide whether to accept the offer or not. Let's see what happens.....
  4. Guess I'll not hold my breath waiting for the lovely Michelle to send it to me in writing (she'll have to ask her colleague how to do it first though....) ;-)
  5. Spoke to the lovely "Michelle" in the Customer Complaints dept at Abbey. They have no record of any transaction prior to 6 years. Apparently. Asked her "how so"? She said (after speaking to her colleague) under DPA all info older than 6 yrs must be destroyed. Asked for this in writing. She said "erm". So, according to the lovely Michelle and her colleague Abbey hold nothing past 6 years (even on fiche!!!!)
  6. Thanks BL - It's not Moorcroft but Credit Security Ltd who are based in Aylesbury. I've already written to them to say this amount is in dispute with Abbey - I've told them what I've done i.e. sent SAR to Abbey in order to try to resolve this matter so all I can do is hope that they give me more time. Thought about sending SAR to them - surely they'll have details of how the debt was accumulated?
  7. Sure - they're called : Credit Security Limited Credsec House Oxford Road Stone AYLESBURY Bucks HP17 8PL
  8. Hi there! Can anyone advise me or point me in the right direction if this has been covered before? I had a current account with Abbey which was referred to a debt collection agency when I was unable to pay the overdraft of £1200 off. (It was in excess of £3k but I managed to get it down to this figure). I began to get into financial difficulties in 1999 due to a change in personal circumstances. This resulted in having bank charges applied to the account on a monthly basis. I remember the days of having to go into branch and ask for a couple of hundred quid from my salary to pay bills etc. eac
