  1. Thanks so much for your response! My ex housemate has the list at the moment but I’ll get hold of it and make contact with the landlord explaining my intentions. Thanks!!!
  2. From 2003 to 2004, as a student I shared a house with 4 other people paying £250 each per calendar month. When we moved out, the landlord kept each of our £250 deposits or such things as; • A new washing machine (because ours broke at no fault of ours) • A new 3 piece suite, because of a cigarette burn in one of the cushions • Having the whole exterior of the house professionally cleaned (by a high pressure hose thing)...because some kids had thrown an egg just above the front door on Halloween When we left the house, the land lord gutted the house and completely redeveloped the property i.e. Turned front room into a nice kitchen, turned downstairs bedroom into front room etc….so he could sell it. I would love to get a fair amount of the deposit back, out of principle as much as anything else, as he was a complete crook. The problems are the fact it was so long ago and we never did an inventory…. We did try and get some of the deposit back at the time, but unfortunately my ex housemates wanted to write more letters than take him to small claims court…. Does anyone have any advice?...is it a lost cause? Any help would be very much appreciated thanks!
  3. yeah you would have thought so wouldnt you?!...
  4. ive had such bad experience with mbna....ive made 3 sar's ...including filling out their form, with id and £10 payment.....had three lists of charges...all completely different!!!... and still no copy statments, only these 3 different lists of charges, with almost £400 difference between them...cant wait to finally get copy statments to see how much i have really been charged!!! http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/mbna/33299-me-abbey-mbna-credit.html
  5. Unbelievable! After the first two attempts at a subject access request….receiving two totally different lists of charges, both times telling me, they wont accept the £10 and then not giving me the full data subject access request…jack asses…. I again filled out the form they attached, saying if want to make full S.A.R - (Subject Access Request), please complete this form, enclosing £10 and ID …which I did, they have now sent a letter, saying there was a technical error, which they have now rectified, that they calculate they have taken £650 from me in charges, so they will credit my account with £850 …which is nice…..but they have yet again said they will not give me the full S.A.R - (Subject Access Request), saying they credited the £10 to my account again!!!...what the F*@k!!!... This time they have no excuse, I filled out the form they sent, with the ID and the tenner…..makes me think how much have I really been charged, in three different letters it has gone from £479, to £611 to £850!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What happens if I write back again….£1100, £1300, £1500 etc etc

  8. hey col, will this saga never end?!... im just preparing a witness statment to send off to cobbetts. Have you done yours yet? what other documents are you goin to send them? i dont have to send mine off till begining of nov, but wanna make sure they're done b4 hand.
  9. ill be there a couple of weeks after.... us veterans hey!
  10. hey pal, yep still here.... been pretty busy, so havent been on the CAG website for a bit... cobbetts have confirmed that they will not apose me amending my claim (very nicely of them....good ol Lynsey), so sent that email off to the court, so should go through with out the hearing...and extra 30 quid. what about u? any more news? keeping fingers crossed for a hassle free time for the both of us...and evry1 else of course D
  11. got cheque for £235, which is about a hundred pound shy of what i claimed...gonna right back again...but been by far the best ive dealt with so far. vast difference to abbey, who refuse to send my statments (crediting the £10 to my account).... sent me a list of charges for free, which looked doctored, then sent me another letter, to my second sar with another list of charges for same period, which included loads of charges which had been removed from the 1st!
  12. unbelievable! after my second letter, they again refused to give me all my statements. they said theyd supply the info free of charge, crediting the ten pounds to my account. they supplied me with a second list of charges for the same period.... but had a load of charges they had removed from the first list!...the new one totals £611 including the interest...£130 more than before...and i bet this still isnt the full amount.... cant believe the cunning and deceit!

  14. cheers, i think i stupidly applied for a hearing, as read the question as 'how do you want your claim to be dealt with?', and as i had a hearing already sceduled for my court date i ticked the hearing option... ill ring the court 2moro and ask if there's any chance they'll change it to being dealt with without a hearing, especially as cobbetts sent me a letter saying they "look forward to recieving" my ammended claim, implying they're not goin to object.
