  1. Hence the predicament. Their letter said they will accept £700 as a "final settlement".
  2. Thats kind of my point. They say that by paying the £700 the debt is paid.
  3. I'm in a bit of a predicament at the moment. Bear with me and hopefully someone can help. LTSB combined my loan payment and overdraft leaving a debt of £7000 that they wanted repaying immediately. After the usual sparring matches back and forth for 2 years they offered me a repayment option. Pay £700 and the account will be closed! :)I paid it! Of the £7000 nearly £3000 is bank charges. Having paid the £700 can I still claim the £3000 unlawful charges without them demanding the remainder on the account?
  4. Cheers Godders, But thats just it, I've had the account for approx 18 months.... surely that would amount up to no more than say £200 even if the account has been running all this time, which I don't think it has. So the £10 account charge with no money in the account soon becomes £38 with unauthorised o/d charge. Then the same each month. Is there something I can tell them in the meantime when they call? Also what do you say to them when they say "you signed a contract saying you'll accept these charges"?
  5. Hi guys, Got a phone call this morning from a manager at Intrum justitia working on behalf of NatWest. Apparently I'm going to court to settle £554.20. I've never deposited ANY money in this account, I did NOT even activate the card and they want me to pay these charges.:o It was the Advantage Gold Account with the account charge. I've sent out a Data Protection Subject Access Request, but I'm just curious as to whether they are taking me to court yet or whether its a scare tactic. Also, is there anything I can do in the meantime to delay this 'court action'? Or at least something to tell them over the phone? Cheers and that for all your help.
  6. Thanks Welly, Can't wait to get started on the rest of them too! I WILL WIN!!
  7. Hi guys, Just started trying to get back all my charges from a number of different creditors and banks and have just received my first reply from Barclays. Anyone know what a microfiche is? Why are my statements pre May 2004 there? Why are they not "readily accessible" therefore do not fall into the class of documents to be produced? Any help would be super!! Cheers and that.
