  1. Hi all, I have received a letter from Moriarty Law regarding a debt which amounts to the value of a small house. I'm losing sleep over this and it makes me sick thinking about this, please help. The debt apparently relates to a possible credit card I had when I worked in the UAE but find it inconceivable that my original debt was even 1% of the amount they say I owe though I thought everything had been cleared when I left. On receipt of the letter I panicked and called Moriarty to try and explain my circumstances but having now found your forum I believe that was the wrong move as they are now regularly chasing me for updates. My circumstances are that I have just started in a new financial services role, having a CCJ will be disastrous for me. I offered them an amount of everything in my savings as I just want this to go away and they said that unless I provided bank statements they were unlikely to see my proposal get accepted but if I sent them everything to forward to ADCB then they will consider it. Under GDPR are they even allowed to share any of the data I provide? I worry if they have it my information will be passed round all the countries in that part of the world etc. I did see some images of letters uploaded by other people on this site and mine looks exactly the same. Please can someone advise me what to do next, the clock is ticking but I really can't have this going to court. Shall I just respond back as other by completing BOX I of the form and ask for: A copy of the signed finance agreement together with the terms & conditions with ADCB and myself Any notices of change in account terms & conditions A copy of the Default Notice A copy of the Notice of Assignment A complete set of statements detailing exactly how the debt has accrued detailing: · All Transactions. · Any additional charges, be them by the original creditor or you Moriarty Law the debt purchaser or any predecessor DCA. · Details of all contractual interest added by whom and on what date. · List of All Payments made toward the Agreement Copies of correspondence (including envelopes) of attempts to contact me as my Landlord did have my forwarding address Copies of correspondence sent to my UK address as an Ex-pat we did have to supply a secondary address in our applications Registration of any debt with UAE Courts or other authorities. Should I also complete and return the Financial statement showing my current financial situation. As I just want this situation to go away. I would appreciate any help anyone can provide to help me resolve this matter or even recommend where I can get legal advice as searching debt management companies just seem as perilous. Thanks BLT
