  1. Whilst still only one many possible answers, it does not detract from the fact that it must be possible to rule this out. The OP is in a position think back to such an impact, my original point was just that, nothing else.
  2. I find it worrying that you feel that you may have struck another car/object hard enough to cause damage to your own car without noticing! if you had done so it would have surely folded your wing mirror in. Also can you not recall being in such close proximity to a car/object to cause this?
  3. what...please don't tell me that's FOTL poop?
  4. Great reply, thanks. I've seen a few cars that look in good nick etc, however they have the caveat "not tested, spares & repairs" I suppose it should act more as a indicator of the level of after sales care to be expected. Thanks again.
  5. This highlights something that I have noticed that is being used more and more in trade ads . Dealers are stating "Sold as spares & repairs" or even "even though it starts we have no knowledge of the condition and advise it is taken away on a trailer. ..Sold spares & repairsr" . Does this then absolve the dealer of any responsibility under the CPA? Sorry if I've hijacked the thread.
  6. What? You have no right to even ask for that information let alone do anything with it. You intend to complain to the ICO about the illegal sharing of information by illegally having it shared with you. Ridiculous.
  7. Why don't you just give the OP a gentle nudge before you come out with one of your favourite lines? Have you ever stopped to think that he might be scheduled a scared to name companies or, God forbid, not be aware thàt you can name names on here? How do you get from one single post that he might be trying to protect the company?
  8. if you know that now why are you so worried about what comes in the post? I would welcome the chance to see them Infront of a judge. If you have met the court ordered amount without fail then there is really nothing else to do, but it's not the first time you have been told that. Best of luck.
  9. Tell him that if he feels he has a case to take you to court to do so. Then end all communication with him apart from written. Buy from a dealer to benefit from the protection that consumer law affords you, otherwise it really is a case of tough luck inost cases. It's why I would never buy private. You come across as honest so stop worrying, explain that you are not going to change your position and that there is no point in going around in circles. Then get on with your life.
  10. I keep trying until I get through to someone in either Ireland or America. Raise a complaint, every time I have someone has ring me back within 24hrs and sorted out there and then. I think they are brilliant, but I could just have been lucky.
  11. That is simply not true with Amazon, I've had many refunds from them to an alternative method of payment. Gift card to bankcard etc. One of the reasons why I ship with them, excellent customer service, though sometimes you have to get hold of the right person. Before you reply with " they shouldn't do that..." Well that maybe, but they do.
  12. So your advice is go spend the money that you owe as your credit score won’t improve either way? Shouldn’t it be if you have the funds to service your debts then go do it? Minus inflated fees and charges of course.
  13. +1 I am not one to demand, however if as described they are blanking your requests for a service, one that you pay for, then I would be banging on their regional door until they confirmed why they are refusing you. What union is it? Spud.
  14. I would be putting all my focus on why the union are refusing. Is it that they are not replying to you or have they stated that they will not represent you...I'm presuming you are a paid up member? I would escalate this to the regional office today.
  15. Hi Yes it was a joint debt, their solicitors provided me with a written guarantee stating that it would be as full and final settlement. We also pointed out that if they did not accept our offer then it would be made clear that it was a route that we had tried our best to ignore. They soon realised that they can not control bankruptcy and its final judgement. Who are you dealing with on their behalf?
  16. Hi I had a significant shortfall with them. They pushed and pushed knowing that I wanted to avoid bankruptcy, but I got to the point where I could take no more. I offered them X or I would save the money and go bankrupt and they would have nothing. They accepted at a pace that was surprisingly speedy. I suppose something is better than nothing. I wish you well. Spud
  17. Great, make sure you keep us in the loop. I genuinely believe it's just like Bazza said...it's getting the right person. If it helps, I've never felt like they did not want to help me, just that sometimes certain people were just script reading. Get past them and you will be sorted.
  18. Through my experience with Amazon you need to speak to someone from either the USA or Ireland. Ask for a callback on the Amazon chat, keep going until you speak to someone from the above. This type of incident, if as described, will be sorted in one call. Before someone piles in with damming words, this is my experience. I believe Amazon customer service to be amongst the best ...once you can get through to the correct person. keep plugging away, you will get the right person.
  19. Last year I was able to persuade (beg) a friend not to take a loan from these. In the main this was based on the problems people had come to this site with. I would rather walk than turn to this sub sector, a sharp lesson from Logbook loans in 2008 taught me that. Took my car as soon as they could and tried getting me to hand over 34k too. Thing I took away was that I will never be in that situation again.
  20. Cheers DX. It looks like they are the lowest of the low. Shines a light on just how companies like this are allowed to get away with such practices.
  21. Sorry to hijack. Why are they so bad, is it because they want you to default then they get to take the car back and take you for the money too? Reading through all the threads they just come across as atrocious.
  22. The advise given is solid, and it's a real shame that the OP decided to pick and mix the advise to fit his own narrative. Is there any more left to this thread now?
  23. I'm new, though I've followed this site for years. This thread is now made up of one third people having a go at each other. There's no longer any advice. Its disappointing and not what I, and I should imagine most other people, want.
  24. Thank you. Yes, I've had a look and that looks the easiest route.
